I went with my family to dine in. There were tons of people at the bar. The waitress refused to seat us. There were plenty of tables open and outside tables were empty. We have been going here for years. Will not return.
Well, no more chances. I don’t know how many times I try to give Kretzlers another chance at good food. We order the same thing. Wings- extra crispy. All that means is that I do not want cold bloody insides, slimy skin translucent skin on...the outside. So, when I request “extra crispy”. How does that translate to “underdone”. House salad…. old slimy dark lettuce mixed with brown iceberg. I don’t know that they could water down the ranch anymore. Then no dipping sauce with the stuffed pretzel. This is my local restaurant and I so want to give them my patronage. Over the past year, my wings have been prepared properly once for every five times. Sad. I don't know what happened, but I can only assume new management/ownership.More
Their signature fish sandwich is amazing. My aunt lives near Kretzlers and each time I visit, we make it a point to visit Kretzlers and order their fish sandwich. I am sure everything else tastes great, but I can count on a delicious and huge...fish sandwich always.More
My wife and I went to sample the food for their Oktoberfest. We noticed when we were first seated that there was a cold breeze and we asked to be moved. They moved us to another area in the restaurant. It soon became clear that...there was no place in the restaurant where it would be warm. Our food arrived and my wife's dinner, a wurst sampler, was pretty good. My dish, supposedly Veal Schnitzel quickly lost it's coating and proved, to my taste buds,to be pork. That being said, the real problem was it was freezing inside this barn. It was all of 38 degrees outside. It seem that the thermostat is located in the smaller bar, with a much lower ceiling and many more people, it being a Steeler Sunday. I asked our waitress about this and she said that the thermostat was locked up and would go on when the bar was at 68 degrees. Well, there is no way in hell that that bar was going to reach 68 degrees. Our food was now stone cold and we left for our car to warm up.More
The food is fantastic here.
I give it five stars.
Everything from the apps to the entrees was excellent. It had never been anything but wonderful.
But why do you want to employ a miserable bartender with an attitude?
No welcome, it took 15 minutes...before she even came to ask if we wanted anything. She asked what sides I wanted and spotted them off, when it was my husbands turn she asked him what he wanted, told him he could have three and walked away, came back another five minutes later to ask if he was ready.
She never came back until we finished our beverage and never asked if we wanted to see a menu. Just rude and miserable. Never a smile.
Jovial and nice to her pal at the bar, but there seems to be some dissension when anyone arrives that’s not a “regular”. Why do you want to drive good customers away?More
Went there and ordered appitizers. Ordered a fish sandwich and another sandwich with fries. The table was sticky and dirty. Told the waitress and she did nothing to clean it. There were only a few other people there since it was late. Was told the...fish sandwiches were huge. Disappointed when it came on a kaiser roll and not a hoagie bun as other places serve them on a hoagie bun. Not a good fish sandwich. The appitizers came at the same time as our meals. I don't know how the Kretzler brothers have so many customers. They are rude people. Have had other dealins with them and then to fire a waitress because her Millvale home got flooded last week and she called off to clean up the mess. It shows what type of family they are. Greedy!More
We love Kretzlers. Something for everyone here, I crush their Reuben, Fish Sandwiches, and potato pancakes regularly because I haven't found any better around. My wife isn't keen on the German food but she has a number of favorite pasta dishes and Burgers. The atmosphere...is pleasant, and my kids love going here for the kids meals that are suitable for adults and an awesome value. My kids are picky but they finish every bite down to the complimentary pickle.
The soups are unique and always featuring new creations. Kretzlers really have never let me down. They have my favorite IPA's and hard to find Ciders on tap. Family Friendly dining room with polite and folksy servers right down to the working class non threatening bar usually has mix of older and younger folks for happy hour. And who can resist a free game of Shuffleboard.
