4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed yesterday NEW

We visited Lidia's after passing it on a tour of Pittsburgh. The restaurant is over in the Strip District. We arrived at opening for dinner and were promptly seated. Nice wine selection. Pasta dishes were really good. Lidia's spin on Tiramisu was very light and creamy. Service was great.

First time visit. Made reservations 3 hours in advance. Empty tables but we had to wait. Very noisy. High volume air conditioning felt as cold as outside with a constant wind. I wore my rain coat the entire dinner. Constant stream of wait staff going every which way. Not what I had hoped for atmosphere wise. It was not relaxing... More

Love Lidia's. I've been there a number of times, for brunch, for drinks and for her Annual Tomato Dinner. It's well worth the 60 mile trip, one way! My next goal is to go when she is there!

I ate here about a year ago and it seems like something was missing. The food was ok, I had the pasta trio which was fair. The ravioli was kind of bland and on the other side of the spectrum the long pasta had so much garlic it was overwhelming. The third pasta was pretty tasty. A positive point is... More

We love watching Lidia Bastianich cook up simple and delicious, home-style Italian food on television, and for the most part, the dishes did not disappoint. I felt that the atmosphere and the waitstaff were a little impersonal which affected our experience. Although I prefer standoffish servers to overly hovering ones, I felt that our server bordered on being inattentive. The... More

Nice menu, fine food, based on good ingredients. Not everything we ate was at top level. One waiter didn't change fork and knife between starters and main course -a colleague of his mended the mistake. Nice wine list and definitely fine, low-noise hall. Good for a variety of occasions -from romance to business.

Ate here with family, including two grandkids, after Steeler game. Never knew of the restaurant but sounded good online. I was disappointed, my wife's fish special was not good and our other orders were average, nothing special. We had a waitress that was artificially sweet/friendly and very inattentive. We all decided we would not go back with so many other... More

Had a nice meal with family, plenty to eat and nice selections, you will not leave hungry! Service was a little slow, seemed to not have enough staff, so having dirty plates sitting there was a "buzz" kill. Atmosphere is very nice and obviously very busy.

While in Pitt with colleagues we decided to head out to a nice restaurant for some dinner. Very nice place, excellent service and very good food. You will spend a bit but it's worth it. I'd so back again. To my wonderful coworkers salute!

Thank Marty T
