We were staying near by and everyone said we had to try Pamela's. We like diners, so walked over to try to get breakfast. Both of us agreed that it is a good diner, but not great. Prices are reasonable, and since we arrived at a good time we got a table for breakfast right away.

We had been to the Pamela's location in the Strip District but decided we wanted to try out one of the other locations. After some debate we ended up at the location on Walnut Street in Shady Side. Before I get to the restaurant, let me say that Shady Side should be on everyone's list of places to visit in... More

There are multiple locations and my wife & I chose the one in the Oakland section (3703 Forbes Ave). No reservations and cash ONLY makes you think "is it all worth the wait?" YES IT IS! Enter this "back to the 1950's" diner and meet Tim, the affable owner who'll take your name & cell phone number. He'll show the... More

The wait time to get into this place is crazy. My cousin lives here and wanted to take me here on Columbus Day since he was off work that day. We went on Columbus Day morning, maybe that's why it took so long to get a table; there were so many people who were off work who had the same... More

Nothing beats Pamela's hotcakes...They are perfectly made..But this particular Pamela's in Shadyside needs some attention-A good cleaning is in order and some attention to the service..A customer shouldn't have to go the register in search of additional coffee...refills should happen at the table automatically..the restaurant wasn't even busy..

Hmmmm. When I hear "brunch" I envision a feast for the eyes, delight for the palate, and a hearty, decadent, tasty meal accompanied by mimosas and Bloody Marys. What you get at Pamela's is a greasy spoon breakfast. It's not bad, but not amazing. After more than a decade of living in Pittsburgh I finally had to try to see... More

Visited Pamela's in Shadyside for Sunday breakfast while visiting our daughter. Expected a wait and were told 25 minutes ( was actually closer to 40) but it went quickly and once at our table we had our food in less than 15 minutes. Omelets and 2-egg special were all good with more food than most of us could eat. Everyone... More

Breakfast on a Tuesday morning. First surprise, cash only, so we had to go back down the street & use an ATM. Second surprise, the menu. Nothing really struck me as "must have" so I chose a "malted waffle". Honestly, I have done better with the waffle machines in hotel breakfast nooks. Bacon was small, very thin slices without a... Looking for a good local place for breakfast, we decided to give Pamela's a try. Located in a nice shopping district on Walnut Street in the Shadyside area of Pittsburgh, this place is a classic. Nice diner interior, you could tell that many of the patrons were local and frequent visitors. Excellent coffee. Food was freshly made and very good... More
