Never disappointing. Our favorite of the Big Burrito group of restaurants in the Burg. (2nd and third choice are Umi & Soba. Both terrific also.) Wonderful scallops. Always good service. We prefer the outside (covered) patio when crowded because not quite as noisy as inside. Also downstairs is cozy and quiet.

Next time we are in Pittsburgh we will return. Our server was a good guide, and the cocktails were a great start. Don't miss the pork chop or the lamb shanks. One of our party had salmon, and another has the halibut. Halibut came out overdone, and the replacement was nearly raw. The friendliness and genuine concern of the staff... More

I've been going to Casbah a few times a year since it opened. I've eaten there twice in the last two weeks and have been disappointed on both occasions. On the first occasion, I had a leg of lamb which was underseasoned and a slightly peculiar chemical-like taste in some portions of the lamb. On the second occasion, I had... More

As a Northern NJ food snob, I was extremely surprised to find out that Pittsburgh is a great up and coming restaurant city. We had reservations for a Thursday night at Casbah. It was packed and a little chaotic, and I understand why. The food was special. Every course we had was cooked to perfection.

Lovely ambience, really great staff as they're professional, fri and newly, attentive, while unobtrusive. Food mostly really great, though read the menu item ingredients as some can get heavy.

Unfortunately this was our first experience at Casbah where the food and service were subpar. The parsnip soup was bland and under salted; the burger overcooked, undersized and over salted. The bread pudding was the one highlight of the meal - it was great, and the tomato basil bisque was also good. The caramel chocolate brownie was just ok, and... More

My wife and I have dined at Casbah at least ten times over the last few years, and it is always a very satisfying experience. You enter the restaurant through their covered outdoor space which is quite nice on a warm evening. The main dining space is elegant, but not overstated. The wait staff is consistently pleasant, efficient and knowledgeable.... More

What a great meal. The buttered served with the bread is awesome. Had the calamari / shrimp appetizer and it was fantastic. Filet was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend.

We were new to Pittsburgh and asked friends for suggestions as to where we might enjoy. They gave us some options. After reviewing menus we made great decision to go there. The ambiance was perfect ,the food did not disappoint. The suggested wine was reasonable .All in all we were more than satisfied .

Every time we go to Casbah, we feel as if we are the only guests there. How they manage to make this magic happen... Warmly greeted, seated and attended to each visit. (brunch and dinners) The value is there. The prices are plainly visible. ALL questions are responded to in a genuine manner. Every dish we've ordered has been prepared... More
