This is the best pizza and gelato I’ve had since I was in Italy! I always try to visit Mercurio’s whenever I am in the vicinity of Shadyside because of the fresh, delicious food and the warm friendly atmosphere. The restaurant always appears clean, the service is always great and the food consistently is amazing. Mercurio’s is located on Walnut Street near many interesting shops and ample parking. During my last visit to Mercurio’s, after a very long and stressful day, I left my purse in the restaurant and didn’t realize until I was an hour away that I didn’t have my purse. I had to drive another hour back to Mercurio’s and the kind young lady working behind the gelato counter had secured my purse in a safe place and I got it back with all of the contents intact including my iPhone and wallet! Not only is Mercurio’s a great place to enjoy authentic pizza and gelato, they hire professional, kind people with integrity.
Everyone who I told about Mercurio’s who visited enjoyed the food here. I will continue to highly recommend Mercurio’s and will definitely be returning to Mercurio’s myself in the near future.

Visited on a Friday night, 30 min wait, but there are plenty of interesting shops on Walnut Street to pass time. (Check in at hostess station, explore, get text when table is ready!) Had the BEST margherita pizza. Ever. Tender crust, flavorful sauce and fresh mozzarella. Huge selection of gelato - go with the Death by Chocolate. Fast and friendly service, atmosphere can be a bit noisy but not unbearable. Such a great experience we went back Saturday! Lasagna pizza was unique and if you closed your eyes, you'd think you were eating lasagna. A "must go" in Shadyside!

1st time at Mercurio's. Friendly & Professional service. Outdoor seating available for non-rainy days. Street Parking after 6pm is free. We were lucky and found a spot within a block of Mercurios. Nice to have Gelato for dessert. Plates sizes (Pizza, Salads, & Paninis) are good size for one person. Would return.

This place is fantastic and worth the wait. We got four different pizzas and honestly they were all so good I couldn’t pick a favorite. The women who was our server was excellent and took care of us well. The tiramisu gelato is the best gelato I’ve ever had. I would come back again and again.

We went to Mercurio’s in Shadyside which was supposed to have Neapolitan pizzas and home made gelato. We ordered a white (pizza del re) and a red (pizza della casa). Unfortunately both were lukewarm and the crusts were not as crispy as expected. We finished with espresso and affogato with stracciatella gelato. Both the coffee and the gelato were very good. Service was very courteous and friendly.

The gluten free diavlo pizza was delicious. The crust was so good it doesn't seem like gluten free. Great texture and baked perfectly. The toppings were plentiful and had just the right amount of spice to be enjoyable.

Our family had a great meal. The panzanella salad and pizza were delicious. Pizza was thin and the crust was tasty and chewy. We stayed for the gelato! There were so many flavors to choose from. Our waiter was attentive. We enjoyed our meal outdoors with a lovely breeze. Perfect night!

Located in the heart of Shadyside, Mercurio's is a great pizza place with delicious pies. We got them to go but I think eating there would be better when they are right out of the oven!

I stopped at Mercurio's for gelato and wasn't disappointed. They have a large selection of flavors and you can order just the amount that will satisfy your sweet tooth. The gelato was creamy and very flavorful. It was as good as any I've had in Italy. I can't wait to go back and try the savory menu.

I'm Italian and live in Italy and struggle to find a place to have nice pizza. Here I could enjoy a fantastic pizza! Thin crust not bending over, just the way I like it. Also it felt very light and easy to digest.
Highly recommended!! I had the award winning "Re of something" with truffle spread and cured Ham.
Gelato is also amazing!! I fell in love with the Turtle caramel, I think it's called, with salty caramel and pecan nuts.... SEMPLICEMENTE SUPERBO! I took a zillion kilos at home!
And staff was very nice too! Friendly but not invasive!
So 5 stars!! Well done guys! You would have a top notch restaurant in Italy too!
Great job!

Wonderful place for Pizza and Gelato, friendly waitstaff, outdoor eating as well as indoor. The casa salad is excellent with handmade mozzarella and Parmesan cheese with fresh tender greens and grape tomatoes.

We were in Pittsburgh for a short 2 day visit and discovered Mercurios in the Shadyside district. The pizza was absolutely FANTASTIC...nice thin crust and fabulous sauce. We split a Margherita con Bufalo pizza(an award winner) and it had soft creamy mozzarella and a perfect basil flavor from the fresh leaves on top. it was so good we wished we hadn't split it and came back the next day to get one each !We also tried the gelato .The peach was wonderfully flavorful and so smooth and creamy and the black chocolate cherry was also amazing. We will be sure to come back to this place whenever we visit Pittsburgh!!

Mercurio’s is in the middle of action at the quaint Walnut Street. I had gone to visit my daughter at Pittsburgh and she said we have to go try some pizza there . It was pretty busy but we managed to try some delicious pizza there ; I tried a porchetta pizza while she tried a margarita pizza . Both were excellent. I also indulged in trying to learn a few Italian culinary terms from a very nice server . The gelato that followed were delicious. All in all , a great experience!
