We dine at Hyde Park Pittsburgh several times per year and went this weekend. Hands down our favorite menu item is the thick cut bacon in the cider glaze. We ALWAYS get that as one our appetizers. Tonight the bacon was of course fabulous - we both had filets and they were cooked perfectly. My husband had the Rooney with the mushroom glaze and lobster tail - the crust on the outside of the steak was perfect and the insides were done just as requested.
Our server was Logan who was personable and efficient and a good conversationalist. The managers also make certain to stop at every table and check in which is a nice touch.
If I could change one thing I would add a weekend lunch service or at least an earlier opening or lunch service on the days when there's a Pirates or Steelers game or even a hockey game. If you compare the other North Shore steakhouse hands down this is the much better option but if you're down for an earlier game they aren't open beforehand.

Hyde Park is a classic old-time steakhouse, complete with the dark wood interior! The waiters and waitresses are dressed formally and extremely attentive. We utilized a side room for a presentation to about 40 people. It was the perfect size and venue. We ate off a prepared menu to keep costs reasonable and the restaurant worked within our budget. I had the chicken dish, and it was prepared perfectly. My colleagues who had the steak enjoyed it immensely.

I took my wife to Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse for Mother’s Day and it was much more than we expected. This restaurant is upscale dining at its best. The interior offers a beautiful dining room with soft lighting and charming red seats, carpets and drapes. I had a Wedge of Lettuce dressed with bleu cheese and port wine. My entrée was the Twin Filets, with mashed potatoes and onion straws. My wife had the Onion Soup and the Salmon. We ordered Parmigiana Asparagus as a side dish and it was more than enough to share with two people. We topped off the evening with Bananas Foster and Butter Cake. The dining experience was fabulous! Everything was excellent including the service. We had Jaime and Ashley as our servers. They contributed to making our evening a pleasurable experience as they were friendly, sociable and very attentive.

To: Julia K, General Manager and staff.
We had a reservation for 7 at 8PM for the outside patio Friday evening (7-12-24) . Our waiter was Sage. She was doing her best but seemed to have too many table to take care of. Real issue was with a 8PM arrival we still didn't get our food at 9:45PM which lead us to just pay the drink bill and cancel the food. I'm sure this is an anomaly with apologies from all your staff management. It was embarrassing for me as I suggested it as 'best n town'.
Just a suggestion, when something that tragic happens, offer to cover drinks, gift card or something of value Not just an apology. None of the 7 top executives in our group will return, not to mention bad words in the Southpointe exec. community. This should have been an opportunity to turn a tragedy into an positive. Just throwing that suggestion out.

The half of our order that came out quickly was great (chilled lobster!); however, I can’t vouch for the second half since it appeared the kitchen lost the order and it took so long to come out we were no longer hungry (about 25 min between courses).
For some reason we had two servers and it was annoying. First server approached the table, all good. Second server came with flurry of information about the menu. The, after telling the lead server to bring us the check the second server came out with the food and attempted to brow beat us into taking it. I assumed the kitchen screwed up so I gave the servers a good tip anyway.
The wine list resembles a relic from the ‘90’s. Try and find a bottle to order. All the by the glass choices are museum pieces from the past.

The food was excellent. Filet was cooked just right and melted in your mouth. Staff was superb. Everyone was very attentive and focused on making sure everything was just right. We were celebrating our anniversary, and staff members went out of their way to congratulate us.

Great food and great service. The restaurant is located on the North Shore about 1 block away from PNC Park and 3 blocks from Acrisure. The location was perfect after a day of watching football all day at a nearby pub. It was Sunday, and my group was dressed in t-shirts and football jerseys, but we were still accomodated. I had the 14oz Strip, Pancetta Corn, and Caesar salad. The strip was pretty good. The corn and croutons on my salad were superior. I would definitely go back. The banana foster dessert was also delicious.

Imagine waiting an hour and a half to be served your entrees while the restaurant is only about 20% full. Our team of useless servers did nothing to assist. When I walked to the host table I finally had a manager look into what happened to our dinners. Although he was apologetic, the disastrous service and wait time completely overshadowed the food. Moreover, I thought the best thing about the meal was the bread service.
My check was discounted but guess what, the horse was out of the barn and it was far too little too late. I’d rather pay for my food, get what I came for and leave happy. Our dinner was a disappointing experience to say the least.

We had a wonderful 41st anniversary dinner at Hyde Park, before The Rolling Stones concert. I had mentioned that it was our anniversary when I made the res. They gave us a nice table sprinkled with rose petals and free dessert, along with well wishes from all of the servers. The food was fantastic, service was superb. We went early and took advantage of their great pre-6pm special surf and turf dinner. Perfect filet and lobster tails for under $40. I highly recommend.

We enjoyed the atmosphere, service and food at Hyde Park. Tried the ahi tuna and crab cocktail for apps. Both were good but would opt for just the crab next time, generous portion of lump crab. Filets were cooked to our preference. Server recommended the corn, it was a good choice to pair with a baked potato. Martinis were poured from the shaker table side. Did not find the prices outrageous compared to other major cities or any upscale dining establishment. They do offer an early bird option before 6 PM. Outdoor seating provides a nice setting along Pittsburghs North Shore.

Splurged on the Japanese Wagyu steak and it was well worth it, like butter! Had a nice peppery crust on it and a savory sauce on the side. Paired it with the delicious candied bacon bit Brussel Sprouts and Mac & Cheese and it was the absolute best meal I’ve had in a long time. Yum! Also highly recommend the black cherry Old Fashion. Service was superb and love the dark rich decor, 10/10 recommend!

For Restaurant Week they offered something called "Dry Aged Sirloin Chop Steak." It was just a big, mediocre hamburger. It wasn't good enough to even finish. It should not be on their menu. This is supposed to be a 5-star steak house.

Perfect end to a busy day of travel and Pirate baseball. My friend and I flew in from Dallas to start a golf trip with a Pirate day game and then a steak at Hyde Park. Being from Dallas, we are not unfamiliar with quality steak and great steakhouses. Well, Hyde park did not disappoint either in the steak or the service. I had the crab meat cocktail followed by a wedge salad and the 8oz filet with the brussel sprouts as a side. I have to say, my steak was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. My friend had the strip steak and pronounced it excellent as well. Service was excellent and attentive. While a busy Saturday evening, we did not feel rushed. We were greeted by the manager table side as well. If you are looking for a good steak and old style steakhouse service, you should not be disappointed with Hyde Park.

Let me start by saying experience at Hyde Park prime steakhouse was first rate. Our server Ellie was amazing. She was very friendly, professional, accommodating, and knowledgeable of the food selections. You are the onion soup which was flavorful with a nice broth. The wedge salad is definitely a must have as the blue cheese dressing was rich and creamy. The tomahawk steak melted in your mouth. It was flavorful and cooked to perfection with a nice charred cover. We ordered the garlic mashed potatoes and the mushrooms with spinach sides. Everything was just wonderful, the atmosphere was nice, and the restaurant was very much attending to COVID-19 efforts with safe distancing, masks, and hand sanitizers. I highly recommend eating here as you will have an amazing time with great service.

Everything has to be pretty darn perfect for me to give a 5-star review, and that is exactly what I experienced tonight - perfection!
The service was perfect! Not too much, but timing was on point and they were kind and responsive.
It is Restaurant Week, so sometimes you can tell a difference in the service due to this. That was not the case at Hyde Park.
The wedge salad, filet (medium rare), and dessert were delicious. Honestly, I have had some delicious steaks, but this one ranks close to #1 if not the first on my list.
The ahi tuna appetizer was THE best I’ve ever had - hands down.
Go! You won’t regret it!
