The danishes are absolutely divine! Moist, fresh and worth waiting in line for! They had a variety of danishes including cheese, cherry, apricot and blueberry. The apricot is my favorite! Post-Covid19, only 2 people are allowed in the bakery at one time. However, locals and visitors alike wait in line for their baked goods. Sicilian pizza, croissants and a variety of pastries are available for a low cost. Delish!

This bakery I Strip District is one of my favourites which I usually get for a pizza or pastry and then go over to La Prima to get my espresso and enjoy there in their standing room. It’s always great. Here the pizza is the best part amazing stuff. Don’t skip this place even JL you’re not hungry.

We had a slice of pizza, but I don't know what it was called. It had gorgonzola cheese and onion on it. It was delicious. We also got a chocolate crinkle cookie and it was also very tasty. Not dry at all. We were there on a Friday morning and there was hardly anywhere to sit on the sidewalk out front.

We were next door at the Popcorn Company and figured we’d try a pie. Ordered an ordinary 12” with pepperoni. The service is extremely rude as if they’re doing you a favor. And after waiting 30+ minutes, we were treated to a nasty pizza with horrible pepperoni. Complete and utter tourist trap!

A little dude street Italian bakery highly touted by the locals. And they didn’t exaggerate! Service was friendly and patient! The “Mele” are the bell of the ball, we tried them all, almond, apple, apricot, and raspberry, delicious all! Should definitely have bought more of the “Cinnamon Twists”. And the “Torta Rustica”…..fantastic!!! A great place!

A small bakery with lots of amazing options. For me on this visit, I was looking for something sweet. I immediately zeroed in on a raspberry pastry that looked like a stuffed sfogliatella. I had to have one.
Once comfortably seated outside, I took a bite and ... it was heaven. The sweetness of the raspberry in combination with the soft crunchiness of the pastry shell. Magnifico! I can't wait to come back and try some of the other items.

I ordered veggie and meat Torta Rusticas for our Steelers tailgate to serve as breakfast food. They were DELICIOUS as were the danishes and croissants. The staff was so kind and friendly. Definitely my new “go to” when visiting Pittsburgh.

They sell out quickly. Get there early. Everyone is friendly. Prices are fair. Everythi g we ordered was delicious. They opened up a coffee shop next to them. Can walk from one to the other, inside. Only a few high tables no sit down tables.
Sorry I didn't take pictures this time.

Very good Italian bakery in the “Strip” . They have sandwiches, salads soups & pasta dishes. You order & pay at the counter and they bring it out to you for Al fresco dining on the sidewalk. Very solid.

Wow! Pizza was outstanding. We had a margherita. I was concerned when it came out...lots of sauce. Coming from an Italian family, I prefer a simple sauce and frequently in the States it is too complicated with spices. The sauce was outstanding and the crust delicious. We had a sfogliatelle for dessert, what an unexpected treat. Yum!!!

Colangelo's is attached to La Prima Cafe, in Pittsburgh's historic Strip District. It is an authentic Italian bakery, that also makes an unsurpassed pizza - in several varieties. It is never a disappointment!

We always visit here for the sfogliatelle, which are wonderful Sicilian pastries featuring lots of layers of crisp dough around a ricotta filling. Their other offerings look great, and I can definitely vouch for their flatbreads. However we mostly go for the sfogliatelle.
