Dave & Andy's is, quite simple, my favorite ice cream place anywhere. The ice cream is made on the premises, as are the waffle cones. You can smell the cones baking down the street, and each cone gets an M&M in the bottom to prevent leaks. There is always a selection of basic/classic flavors and then a few more interesting... There is a reason this is annually rated a top 10 ice cream shop in the country. Great ice cream and even better waffle cones. Don't miss it.

We went for a college visit. Didn't realize their hours and came about 20 minutes before closing. The ice cream was ok but we were practically getting kicked out. There were some people coming in about 10 minutes before closing time and were told to quickly make their decision and order. As we were leaving the employee closed the door... More

Disappointing experience in that everyone raved about this place but we found that while the quality was good (not excellent), the portion size was small and the price was steep.

Took some friends and family here while visiting Pittsburgh. Walking near it, caught the small of the cones baking that took me back 30 years to when I first went there. We got a variety of flavors and were all happy with our ice cream and the prices.

Weekend in Pittsburgh with daughter and granddaughters. Friend had recommended this to try. We made an effort to fit it in our schedule and were glad we did. Ice cream smooth and creamy. Nice assortment of flavors.

Great hand dipped ice cream. Stopped by while walking around Oakland with our two little ones. Staff is friendly and inviting. Small store with just a few places to sit. Prices are good. Will swing by again.

We tried Dave and Andy's because it was close to the area of downtown Pittsburgh we were visiting and because it supposedly has some of the best ice cream in Pittsburgh. It's in the heart of Pitt Panther country, so the neighborhood was teeming with college age folks. Parking isn't easy (but it's downtown Pittsburgh) but we found a lot... More

We stopped in recently for the first time. We were not impressed, expected much more based on all the hype surrounding this place. We tried chocolate chip, it had very few tiny chocolate chips. And cake batter which was too sweet for our liking (maybe a downfall of that particular flavor). The waffle cones were freshly made. Would definitely not... More

Smooth, rich Ice cream in a variety of flavors. I chose chocolate, of course! I plan to return the next time I am in town.
