Absolutely delicious. If you are used to American versions of Chinese food, then this may not be your place. But if you want great flavors and fresh vegetables in tasty sauces (not the generic brown stuff at the Chinese buffet) then try this place out....I've been there twice while visiting my son at grad school. Prices are excellent.More

The service was excellent. The food was delicious, fresh and made so quickly! We had Chrysanthemum tea. We got a nice generous fresh steep pot with a second fill without having to ask. The table was covered with a clean sheet of paper. - the...restaurant, though tired in decor is really very clean. This was much appreciated. I expected to be cold having been seated at a booth by the window on a frigid day but was comfortably warm. We ordered crispy spicy chicken, baby bok choy with black mushrooms and chive pancakes. All delicious. This is a restaurant catering to authentic Szechuan palates. There's a huge takeout and delivery business.More

This is a simple place that serves good Asian food. Please note they do not server beer or wine. You can bring your own. I had the Peking Duck which was great. It came with white rice. The duck was not dry and it had...a lot of flavor. If you are looking for a good Asian meal stop in.More

Yes, the food is and can be spicy, as the name of the restaurant tells you. The food tasted very authentic, for all the spice lover and those ones enjoy strong flavor. The place is kind of unnecessarily dark, but the front desk and server...are pleasant. It is very disappointing that this restaurant does not serve wine, that you have to bring your own. Consider there is no alcohol, the food can be considered just a bit pricey. But this place deserve a visit, if you are in the neighborhood for Chinese or Asian food.More

We decided to try out Szechuan Spice having driven by it several times these past few months. I am glad we made that decision. This is a low key restaurant. We ordered three dishes – one appetizer and two mains. All three items were very good....The cold sesame noodles were light and had a spicy and slightly sour/vinegar taste which helped make all of the flavors pop. They were not smothered in a peanut-sesame sauce. The two mains were the Chinese eggplant and the (vegetarian) Ma Pa Tofu. Both had a good bit a zip to them and were not drowning in oil. There is nothing fancy in the service or décor. Our server did come and check on us a couple of times. And the décor consisted of some large TV screens in the front dining area. In fact, I find the propensity of TV screens in many restaurants a distraction to my dining experience. I would definitely dine there again and look forward to it.More

my wife is hooked on their spring rolls, small thin skin crispy very tasty not greasy but to me the rest of the food had way to much cilantro and Szechuan peppercorn, that is good if you really like cilantro and Szechuan peppercorn.

After a doctor's appointment in a new part of the city for me, I found myself hungry for a snack and so stopped in the first restaurant I saw, the Szechwan Spice. I didn't want a whole meal, and so ordered the Szechwan steamed dumplings,...which were delicious. My only complaint was that I was charged for my cup of weak chinese tea, whereas in my experience this usually comes along with the meal.More

This place has exceptionally poor service. The employees are really young and don't seem to care or have very much experience. We walked in and had to wait 5 minutes just to get menus after being seated at the sushi bar. We came in specifically...for half-price Sushi Wednesday and they did not give us the menus with the Wednesday Sushi specials for another five minutes, and we had to ask a different staff member for that specific menu. Then we ordered from the sushi chef directly and after being served sushi had to wait another 4 minutes for chopsticks. This is totally ridiculous as far as the order of service is concerned. Their English is so poor that a simple request like, "Please put the vegetable sushi on a separate plate from the fish sushi," is too hard for them to understand. To top it all off I was charged for the wrong sushi and asked to have the bill adjusted. She said it was too late because she had already charged my card, and she would give me the difference back in cash but without sales tax. She acted so annoyed that I would actually expect to get the sales tax back from the overcharge that I was given on my bill. So I was like, seriously? I just laid the sales tax on the desk and walked out. On the up side, the sushi was good quality even though the pickled ginger was the cheap kind with artificial coloring and saccharin in it.More

Szechuan Spice is fairly new, but we have been there twice with couples and I have been there once for lunch, and it has been excellent every time. They have essentially three menus: authentic Chinese, American Chinese and sushi. We had the American Chinese every...time, so I cannot speak to the authentic Chinese or sushi items, though there has been a consistent number of Asian patrons, so I presume that those menus are good as well. The American Chinese items were almost all excellent. They offer many items with various meat options. We had the black pepper chicken twice, and it is a great dish. We had the Moo Shu, and it was very, very good, and a bit different than usual in that it had a fair amount of sauce on the main plate, so it was juicy. The eggplant and shrimp was excellent, as was the General Tso's chicken. The Mongolian beef was only ordinary. For starters, the won ton soup is very flavorful, and three of our group shared the hot and sour soup with seafood which they thought was great. Our server, Anne, was very polite, friendly, helpful and prompt. Of all of the Chinese restaurants in the city, this is a great new addition!More

I’ll start off by saying that this is one of my favorite Chinese spots in the area. They have a huge menu of authentic Chinese food which i love experimenting with. They also have a large menu of Americanized Chinese for the less adventurous out...there. The downside is getting incorrect orders. I eat their spicy lamb regularly, and I’ve been given spicy filet mignon (a completely different dish aside from the difference in meat) and an incorrect lamb dish on another occasion. The last time this happened the person who screwed up my phone order walked around saying that it was basically the same and it tastes the same, complaining about me wanting my correct order directly in front of me. It’s a COMPLETELY different dish that does not taste the same and is not even close to being the same. If I’m paying $20 for a dish i want the correct dish! Another order i made for sushi, the OMG roll, had fruit in it instead of tamago. I know tamago is a pain to cook, but if i order it i expect to receive tamago. This is just laziness. Guaranteed a Chinese restaurant has eggs on hand, so i highly doubt its an issue of being out of the ingredient. I like their food, but I’ll never order sushi again because their chefs are substituting ingredients. I honestly would give this place a 5 out of 5 if it weren’t for these issues. The menu is great, and when you get the correct food it is very high quality with great flavor. Hopefully their employees can improveMore
