Destination for A Special Event

As soon as we drove up to the Capital Grille I saw Valet Parking right along the street and I knew this place was a bit special. I am sure some of you ladies understand. I have a spouse who would "rather do it himself" and park his own car and make me walk. It was a bitter cold evening... read more

National chains have a ways of letting me down. The Capital Grille in PIT got a 80 out of 100 for me. The wine list was lacking some diversity and the menu is just a little boring. I want to be shown some local flavor. We had a bottle of delicious Caymus which was awesome, but how about something different... More

Overall we had a great time, but there were a couple little hitches that prevented perfection. It was all reservations that weekend night and seating was punctual in a packed restaurant. The server either was overworked or just didn't seem very engaging as those who might banter a bit around her. The atmosphere was perfect for a fine steakhouse: Lighting,... More

I took my mom here for her birthday- it was excellent! Great food, atmosphere, & service! I booked online & asked for a surprise birthday dessert- they did just that. They welcomed my mom with a "Happy Birthday" & everyone was friendly & professional.

We went for the Restaurant Week option. Had wanted to try the place, but knew it was pricey. Sat at the bar. Slow service, had to request water three times, limited craft beer (no taps), good food though. I don't plan to return.

Even as a vegetarian I LOVE THIS PLACE. The creamed corn (hold the meat of course) is too die for. The atmosphere is uppity and luxurious and the bread basket is out of this world. I've heard rave reviews of the Lobster Mac but have yet to try it (hold the lobster of course). The desserts are delicious but the... More

We were here New Year's Day. The service was fine. The spinach salad was top notch. I had the ribeye, which was cooked med rare . But the flavor was missing from my steak. At the price of these steaks, they should outstanding . Instead they were just ok. I won't be back at this price. I have had much... More

I was fortunate enough to be inivoted to dinner at the Capital Grille in Downtown Pittsburgh one evening with friends. I had never been there and was expecting much the same experience as at a typical upper level steakhouse. I was not disappointed. The meal was excellent. I opted for a coffee crusted porterhouse which was truly excellent and well-prepared.... More
