I've been going here for a number of years since my son told me about it. The Italian hoagie has real Italian cold cut not the bull$#!t others in the area put on it. Most places put that nasty pepperoni on it they don't, in Italy there is no salumi called pepperoni. They do a great job!

Awesome, family-owned business. Ordered one meat and one veggie pizza, lasagna and a loaf of their homemade Italian bread! Made to order, fast and easy pick-up. Fantastic all-around. Pizza has a great sauce, plenty of toppings and a wonderful woodfire crust. Lasagna was enough to feed a family and was delicious. And the bread rivals another famous Italian baking family in Pittsburgh. Top-notch! Cash and take out only but that is all part of the charm, along with the fantastic food and service! Give it a try! It's a keeper!

Disgusting Two raw pizzas, like pizza soaked in water. Forgot Toppings (Pepperoni). Pizzas inedible, took advantage of my older parents. Never Again. I even steered other customers here, no more, I'll head that off at the pass...

Ordered several pizzas to go from Frankstown Wood-Fired Pizza for my family. The pizza is homemade with great fresh toppings. They make their own sauce and sausage and have fresh toppings to go on it. It is a family owned business and ideal for take out, as they do not have seating. My family members like the hot peppers, sausage and pepperoni. All pizzas are made with their homemade doe. We enjoy it!

We stopped because we were passing through. Boy are we glad we did. Its small but oh dont let that stop you. We ordered the pizza bianco and a pizza marinara with sausage and pepperoni. They were both incredible. Hand tossed crust, plenty of cheese and toppings, chunks of sausage. We also got a loaf of their bread. Glad we tried the big tasty crusty loaf. This is our new favorite pizza, it will be yours too!

I too live in Penn Hills and have passed by many times without stopping.....until last week.....I have missed out on the best, authentic pizza in the Burgh. Simple, honest Italian food. So glad that I stopped.

If your after stone fired pizza don't go to those chain places. This is a small mom and pop shop that's way better then the big guys. Try it once and you'll be back.

Thin crust hand-tossed (fresh made dough) absorbed the wood fire flavor with fresh mozzarella & super fresh basil picked from the potted plants in front of this tiny pizzeria made it all very authentic. Super delicious. Takes a lot of time. We called ahead and were told 40 minutes for 3 Pizzas. Wasn't ready when I arrived but, it was well worth the wait. The anti-pasta was marinated in a very fine all of oil the chunks of olives avocado and roasted red peppers were a perfect complement. Not open Sunday or Monday.

My friend is a big fan of this restaurant. Her children love the Italian ice. One night she decided to get takeout while I was visiting her. I am forever grateful...what a treat. We had the pizza which was just amazing, but the coup d'état were the stuffed banana peppers..some of the best I have ever had. Included was some amazing Italian bread due to the heat in the peppers. I love that there is a big cord of firewood in the parking lot..talk about authenticity...I really would love to try more of their deli items!

Frankstown Pizza is a small old building - but do not get scared off - the food is excellent and the couple that run the place are very nice. The Pizza has a great crust and toppings are what you ask for. This is not a place to eat-in - strictly pick up. There is one table but is normally used by those waiting. There is outdoor seating but you are right on a busy highway. Hours are limited - so call ahead.

This is my favorite place for pizza. I am blesses to be a native Penn Hills resident. I feel I can truly say it is the best. Others on this site have described the pizza. Try the lasagna or stuffed rigatoni. Each single portion serves both my husband and myself. In the cold months there wedding soup is very good filled with homemade meatballs. Speaking of meatballs, try their meatball hoagie. I am also a fan of their sausage hoagie. They usually have homemade pasta fagoli with red sauce. Occasionally they have it in garlic and oil. They do not skimp on the garlic. As my mother-in-law would say Mangia, Mangia! Remember this is a take out place!

I'm not a big pizza eater - However, my friends wanted to go here so I tagged along thinking I could get a salad or something -- We ended up deciding to share one pizza - It was fantastic. We lifted my hatch and sat in the back of my SUV with some pop and ate the whole thing - It was perfect size slices and the toppings were fresh, not to mention the obvious wood fired taste. I hope this place sticks around.
