First to say we did not eat here. Tony saw to it that we were having too much fun. Visited by chance at Happy Hour on Piano Bar and 1/2 Cost Burger Wednesday. Good size and value beers, great martinis and suppose the wine was fine also. Saw enough of it going down. Burgers looked a very healthy size and... More

Never had a bad meal. They bring you a delicious home-baked bread with olive oil and spices, always something different every time,to die for. The chef is fantastic. Truffle fries out of this world. Burgers delicious. my daughter had a plain risotto made perfectly. Lobster and crab raviolis in a cream sauce excellent. They have an upstairs and downstairs. A... More

It had been a few years since we had been this this restaurant. I am happy to report that things have improved. The restaurant is unique with 3 bars and 2 dining rooms. The building itself is very colonial and nicely set up. The service was attentive and our server was one of the nicest we have had in while... More

The only good thing about this place was the friendly staff. The food? I couldn't even finish eating my dish, actually I barely touched it. I ordered wings and a chicken Caesar salad for dinner. Both items tasted like foul fish, I thought it was just me and I had my boyfriend try it and he tasted the same flavor... More

To my knowledge the antiques mecca that is the Adamstown, PA area is gastronomically challenged. Over the years, after trying the other upscale-ish local competition, I've settled on the Black Horse Tavern. The warm atmosphere and good service are dependable. Many menu items veer into the dubious quasi-"gourmet" category but a very good, generously burger along with good fries delivered... More

Central location where I could walk from home, but the bar is way sub par. I haven't even tried the restaurant because of the too many complaints I've heard from family and friends. Wish they could become a good alternative in town.

I've been here three times now. They are consistently out of a third of the menu. This last and final time we waited an hour and twenty minutes for one filet mignon and it came out rare instead of medium. (Not sure how this possible when it took so long to prepare.) Between the BAD music & the mediocre food,... More

The game was on and the bar tender was very attentive; nice place to grab a bite and chat. Had a lobster bisque for a snack and it was good. I will be going back for a lunch or dinner this week.

We have been to Black Horse Tavern a few times for lunch and dinner. Neat old building. The atmosphere is nice, good food including some creative menu items (except salads are so-so) and good drink options. Our early experiences were good, and inspired us to go back for lunch on a weekend, bringing company. Unfortunately for some reason they were... More
