Stopped in for lunch on a Friday. The place has nice ambiance to it, and a wide variety of selections on the menu. This place also offers a nice bar selection. While the menu options were extensive, the quality and taste of the actual food wasn't anything special- even somewhat overpriced. The service here is also pretty slow at best,... More

Very homey with a ver historic feel! Great location ! Walk to shops and taverns! The hotel personnel were very hospitable ! If your into music, the inn has live music and a great bar! Most importantly, the rooms were very clean !!

My boyfriend and I stopped in here for lunch while shopping in the area. We headed into the bar where there was plenty of seating. The bartender, John, was very pleasant, but clearly over extended, waiting tables in a dining area along with the bar area. This got worse when shortly after we ordered a pub crawl entered the bar.... More

Went on a Wednesday night, so was quiet. Service was slow, but friendly. The bar was pretty good pouring wine and scotch, but the Margarita was pink. Obviously lemonade and tequila with some triple sec. Very sweet. Fried artichokes and carpaccio were very good. My fish was way over sauced, as we're most dishes. I think owners are a bit... More

The Temperance House has recently (within the last year) been refurbished and has an old world feel for dining. We had been there for dinner a few months ago and was looking forward to trying their brunch options. The menu is somewhat limited, but there are choices for everyone with both egg dishes as well as waffles and pancakes. I... More

I've been going to The Temp (formerly Ye Olde Temperance House) for over 40 years. After being closed for about a year or so, it re-opened with new owners and friends have been telling us how great the food is. H and I stopped in on a recent Tuesday night about 8:30 for dinner. We were told by the waiter... More

We celebrated Valentine's Day at the Temperance House. There was a special menue for that day and we ordered from that. The setting is historical with large open fireplaces and thick stone walls and wide wood floors. The facility is not very large so reservations are requested. There is no parking lot but there normally is ample on street parking... More

I made reservations for a reunion with high school friends I have not seen in years. We were in the dining room with the fireplace. It was quiet so we were able to talk and catch up with each other. Our waiter, John, was great. He had suggestions and was attentive to our every need. Our meals were fabulous. I... More

I've enjoyed dining at the Temperance House with my wife for decades, in fact, it is where I proposed to her. Our favorite dining room is where the huge fireplace exudes warmth and there are charming murals of colonial life. Recently I dined there with an elderly friend and were made most welcome by the friendly staff. We were given... More

Went to hear some live music and decided to have dinner. The food was amazing and the portions were huge. Service could have been better but I'll put that down to how busy they were. A must if you are anywhere close by.
