Every single thing we have eaten here is outstanding!! You can’t beat the prices!! It’s like a hidden secret! The parking lot isn’t the best, as it sits in a hill (hence the name) and it’s like a little hole in the wall type place, but it’s home cooked taste that you can’t beat! You won’t regret going! We go here like once a week!

Big hill, bad parking, ugly decor, delicious huge portions of food. Waitstaff friendly and attentive. Food very good. Too bad we live far from it.

Huge portions! I ordered the sirloin bread bowl salad. My co-workers ordered the lamb salad and fish sandwich. All great! They ordered pie too and said it was awesome!

I've been here a few times, most recently with my family, and we had about ten people with us. The food was good. It's nice that our orders weren't messed up or anything was forgotten due to being such a large party. Soft drinks are canned. Seating is limited and I've never been here without experiencing a wait. The Mac and cheese is delicious!

Just real home made food, and you get lots of it. It's just off the 376 by pass. so non the way home from church for us. Off the beaten path but well worth it!

Working out of town in a city of New Castle in Pennsylvania on a cold and windy snowy day we decided it was just to cold for a packed cold sandwich out of the lunch box, so we whipped out the fancy phone and asked it to find us a sit down restaurant close to the job because we didn't have a lot of time to kill, It actually said that it was close by so we clicked on the GPS and went for it, Not even 5 minuets and we where there, It's a strange location between 2 highways in a spot that most people would never see from the road, But there it was! So we strolled in and to my surprise it was a comfortable old fashioned looking place and the ceiling was really low! I am 6' 3" and my head was scraping the tiles as we walked in, I got some strange looks from the people all seated at tables staring like I was some giant haha but the thing was the folks where all elderly people and short so I guess I looked big, We got seated right away and handed menus and WOW, They have a rather large amount of food to choose from, Everything sounded great so I looked around at what the other folks where eating to get an idea and the servings where huge! Not wanting to stuff myself I ordered a cup of french onion soup and the big bacon cheese burger, Let me tell you that food was awesome! The soup was sweet and cheesy and just right, The bacon on the burger was crisp and very tasty as well as the burger was, My partners had grilled chicken dinner and breaded chicken sandwich and both said it was great, Goes to show that hidden gems are what you love to find, Down home service friendly people and down home cooking!! Thanks again Hill House that was the best warm up lunch on a cold I have had in quite some time because we never get the chance to eat in at work. So if you can find you have to try it!!

The Hill House has been a family favorite for years! The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, the portions are huge, the prices are low. Lots of items are home cooked....the rolls are to die for and the pies are really tasty. (Order your pie with your dinner because they sell out fast!) I'd recommend this restaurant to anybody looking for a great meal!

This is one of our favorites - we love to introduce friends to this hidden gem. Their rolls are homemade and to die for!!! Fries are handcut fresh, sauce is made from scratch and the pie.... yum!! Their slogan is very accurate - "world's worst parking lot, absolutely no atmosphere, dishes don't match but we try!" It's a great family run diner.

The restaurant itself is nothing great to look at, BUT the food is good and and at decent price. It has that family feel, where it is small enough you get good service.

Friends took me and my wife to a small out of the way restaurant in New Castle Pa. The sign stated "terrible parking, no atmosphere, our plates don't match but we try." Kinda scary for a mom and pop style establishment. As soon as we entered the staff greeted us and we were quickly seated. It reminded me of a family get together in your garage. The hostess came right over to get our drink order. Before she returned our waitress was there for our order. I ordered a topper. ( mashed potatoes with grilled chicken covered with fried onions, peppers and mushrooms with gravy.) it was Super! The fish ( my wife's order) was delicious as was the huge hamburger (friends order). The onion soup was very tasty. Don't let the sign or looks deter you from trying this restaurant the food and staff are Awesome!

We just discovered this family owned gem. Horrible parking lot, no decor per se, plates don't match this is there slogan all true. Having said that the food is outstanding just good solid home cooking, portions are large prices are great and the service is outstanding. Finally we have found a local restaurant that makes you feel like they want your business. The restaurant does not have a lot of seats so get there early and be sure to order your pie for desert when you order your meal as the pie goes quick. The only drawback is they are not open on weekends. We tried this restaurant last week and have been there 3 times in 6 days I may never cook again(except weekends)

I love food that taste like it was made from Mom's kitchen. Hill House is the type of restaurant where the food is prepared with care. Great place for homemade breakfast. I love HH!

The service is quick if you get there before the lunchtime rush. Good spot to eat considering there isn't too much close by. The food was always fresh and the staff was friendly.

We were in the area for medical reasons and on a budget and I happened across this place on the internet. We decided to try it. If you can get a spot up top in handicapped spot you could probably get in as it is mostly flat, but if you have to park down below - up the stairs you go. I have a hard time walking, but not in a wheelchair and they weren't too busy when we first arrived so I parked in handicapped spot and it was fine. The atmosphere is pretty much non-existent, but everything is clean and tidy. They still had Christmas lights strung around the dining room when we were there last month. LOL Not a huge restaurant, but for a Monday night they were steady with incoming customers and phone take out orders.
We started with the zucchini fries - DELICIOUS! I could have cancelled my meal and just ordered another plate of those. My mother agreed! I ordered the country fried steak, corn, and mashed potatoes. They do offer the country gravy, but they charge extra (little miffed at this). I got beef gravy on potatoes and meat. I will say the gravy wasn't very good in my opinion. The rest of the meal was very tasty. My mother had the hand breaded haddock dinner. I am not a fan of hand breaded as I prefer battered, but I tasted it and the breading wasn't too heavy and it was very good. I would consider ordering this. The service was good. Our waitress was busy so the other waitress stopped by to refill our drinks. For the small dining room they only had 2 waitresses which seemed to be enough. We could hear them joking with the regular customers and several regulars didn't even need a menu. A nice homey, good service, good food, reasonable price place to eat outside of New Castle. Have to go back Wednesday (tomorrow) for a follow up and planning on going here again.
