Went out to dinner with a vegetarian. Udipi tastes so good you willn't miss meat. Best to order lots of different dishes and share. Be sure and check on the level of spicy you are comfortable with.

There was nothing wrong with our meal. This is more of a neighborhood restaurant. Casual. Although it is hardly a neighborhood filled with Indian residents. Reassuring was a long table full of about 12 Indian customers. The food looked fantastic. Some of ours did, also. But we made tepid choices. The food was not thrilling. Sauces would help. There were... More

We have been visiting Monroeville once a year for last 8 years and make sure to visit Udipi every time. Never been disappointed. For is amazing. Love the dosas, chutney and sambhar. Chole batura is very tasty and we tried their lunch specials which was good too.

Go for the food, not the ambiance. We visit on a regular basis. Our favorite Indian food in Pittsburgh so far.

We have stopped at Udupi on every visit to Pittsburgh for the past 20 years. It is consistently excellent, with dishes that have distinctive spicing and are reflective of fresh and authentic South Indian cooking. The place is absolutely nothing to look at but has superb food, attracting a largely (but not exclusively) Indian-American clientele. Such dishes as palak paneer... More

Udipi is one if our "go to" Indian restaurants. The food has always been quite good. The place is strictly vegetarian, which is something you should know

We were desperate for something quick and ethnic and happened to find this place on tripadvisor. It's a little off the beaten path and vegetarian. The dosas are definitely the best items. We had the appetizer sampler and sadly everything was fried. Service is bare minimum. Go for food only. Lots of southern Indians so locals know about it and... More

If you are in for Indian food, I would recommend this place for you. It serves consistently excellent South Indian and some North Indian preparations. Its pricing are moderate and environment is OK but there has never been compromise on quality of food and service.

Enjoy this little cafe. Huge portions. Delicious. Clean restrooms. Try the onion masala dosa. We had two lunch curries and a masala dosa for $25.

I am not very picky in food.. but this place was bad. Unhygienic, bad courtesy and poor quality food. Never again in life time
