I haven't been a fan of Indian food....but this place is amazing. Everything is made to order....it is always filled with Indian people - which to me means it is authentic - and good! You must try it ...you wont be disappointed

I am not vegetarian, neither is my husband. We come here when we have a craving for tasty curries and spicy chutnies. Love this place. My husband says "When I want Indian in Pittsburgh, this is where I go." Wish they would fix the lock on the ladies bathroom, though.

Was here for dinner with family along with my kids. the experience was ok. It does not have the authentic taste of udipi ( I am not a from the udipi region, my taste for udipi developed from other udipi restaurants in India - Karnataka) Coconut Chutney was a frozen one I beleive, it was not tasting that good. Sambar... More

Went out to dinner with a vegetarian. Udipi tastes so good you willn't miss meat. Best to order lots of different dishes and share. Be sure and check on the level of spicy you are comfortable with.

There was nothing wrong with our meal. This is more of a neighborhood restaurant. Casual. Although it is hardly a neighborhood filled with Indian residents. Reassuring was a long table full of about 12 Indian customers. The food looked fantastic. Some of ours did, also. But we made tepid choices. The food was not thrilling. Sauces would help. There were... More

We have been visiting Monroeville once a year for last 8 years and make sure to visit Udipi every time. Never been disappointed. For is amazing. Love the dosas, chutney and sambhar. Chole batura is very tasty and we tried their lunch specials which was good too.

Go for the food, not the ambiance. We visit on a regular basis. Our favorite Indian food in Pittsburgh so far.

We have stopped at Udupi on every visit to Pittsburgh for the past 20 years. It is consistently excellent, with dishes that have distinctive spicing and are reflective of fresh and authentic South Indian cooking. The place is absolutely nothing to look at but has superb food, attracting a largely (but not exclusively) Indian-American clientele. Such dishes as palak paneer... More

Udipi is one if our "go to" Indian restaurants. The food has always been quite good. The place is strictly vegetarian, which is something you should know
