Came for the Early Bird specials on Sunday and it was great. The hostess and servers were very cheerful. Most places you go to eat you feel like you are an inconvenience.... not a Balch's, they seemed happy and eager to please. The portions, not skimpy. A very good value for the money. Some people on other sites said the... More

Dinner was delicious. We had ribs as an apitizer. Fall off the bone and sauce was very good. I had pork chop. Moist and juicy. Apple fritters were delicious. Wife had fish and chips. She enjoyed it very much. We were able to get the early bird specials. Great deal. Waitress Tara was super friendly and very attentive. Even if... More

My boyfriend raved for months about Balch's and this past weekend, I finally experienced it first hand when we went to celebrate his birthday here. The chips and horseradish dip that each table gets is a very nice fresh take in lieu of the boring, bread basket. For drinks, I split the day's special berry/bourbon drink with my boyfriend's mom.... As with previous dinners, tonite was no exception. only thing is that they are not carrying crab legs this summer....Oh well, the wife had to settle for the twin lobster tails. I don't eat seafood..but they looked good. She left nothing on her plate..the hostess and servers are all young teenage girls, big smiles and whatever they can do to... More

Took my mom out for her birthday and figured we would try balch's out. We each had a sangria which was over priced but good. My mom got surf and turf, but when I went to order my food I was told there was an up charge for changing the salad to a soup. Really? Ok then so I am... More

We met family for a meal here. The entrees we had were good and well prepared, but not exceptional. The fish and chips were just as one would expect, the crabcake was decent, but not one we would order again. We could tell all the seafood was fresh. The service was very slow, once we almost got up and went... More

Never had a bad meal here. Went on Mother's Day after we were unexpectedly able to make a reservation just a couple of hours ahead. It was full, but the service was excellent and very friendly as usual, and all the mothers even got a complimentary shrimp cocktail! Nice touch, owners, and thank you! Baked Haddock dinner was excellent as... More

As your driving outside the main town of Milford is this great little restaurant. A very simple no frills looking building inside and out. They offer a great menu, especially for the seafood lover. Portions are very generous. When you sit down they start you off with these amazing corn chips and horseradish dip. We had scallops, shrimp, haddock, lobster,... More

Great fish sandwiches and the crab cakes are really good! Strange little place, but really good seafood for a place not near an ocean!!!

Early bird specials are great, but the regular menu is very good as well. The tortilla chips served in a basket to everyone free of charge come with amazing cheddar spread (it has what appears to be a horseradish zip to it but much better than store-bought cheddar/horseradish spread). French onion soup was delicious ($5.95). The potato pancakes (a special... More
