Nestled in the beautiful and scenic part of Marietta, PA, near the banks of the Susquehanna River, McCleary’s Public House is nestled in a(n) historic neighborhood. There is plenty of parking for vehicles, busses, and bicycles behind the restaurant. Yes, bicycles. Located on this same...street is the Northwest River Trail. This part of Pennsylvania is included in Lancaster County. As you get closer to the restaurant, look for the remnants of the Pennsylvania Canal, the historic mansions of the wealthy iron industrialists, and the brick structures dating back to the 1700s.
One of the first things that I noticed about McCleary’s is the variety of seating options. This place is great for small and large groups alike: the young family, people who are on a romantic date, car clubs, bus tours, and MORE. One item that I want to make you aware of is the small and dimly lit bathroom. If you have a vision or physical impairment, navigating this space may pose a challenge. The dining area situated in the back, however, is brightly lit per the large panes of glass that allow for natural light. Of interest is the graffiti wall and artificial ivy. This place is known for its fish and chips. A lot of people enjoy the chicken pot pie, too.More
