My husband and I celebrated our 33rd Anniversary at the Savory Grille. This was our first visit to the Savory Grille and we agree with the previous reviews. Our dinner was spectacular! We shared the Barbequed Shrimp and the Creme Brûlée. We both had the...swordfish. The service was also spectacular. Chris was our waiter, he was knowledgeable, professional and friendly. We are looking forward to our next dinner at the Savory Grille.More

Yesterday afternoon my wife and I took advantage of the sunny weather to take a country drive to Savory Grille. Each time we visit, we realize how fortunate it is to have a restaurant of this quality in the Lehigh Valley with reasonable entree and...wine prices and impeccable service. Chef Doyle's menu is always unique and yesterday we enjoyed an octopus appetizer that was better than any we've had in NYC or Spain. The atmosphere in the Arbor Room is relaxing, quiet and is a perfect place to enjoy a leisurely meal. We look forward to our next visit!More

Drive into the country was well worth it! Easy parking. Charming historic building updated in neutrals. Two dining rooms; quieter one without bar. Seated promptly with reservation. Tables in room with bar somewhat close. Service attentive and hospitable with well-oiled team approach. Allergy treated with respect....Drinks were well-executed. First tasting offered was delicious. The salad was a bit underwhelming. The pork chop and strip steak entrees were scrumptious! Glad we saved room for dessert. Looking forward to a return visit.More

The first questions you’ll ask yourself are 1.) where am I ? and 2.) how did this happen? The cuisine doesn’t get any finer. The Chef is a culinary genius! It’s a beautiful stone building from the 1800’s in the middle of absolutely nowhere. Dishes...are cooked to your liking with all fresh foods, grown and/or raised locally. There is a bit of a wait between ordering and your meal but they’re making it from scratch. Servers are personable, knowledgable, and attentive. You will need a reservation. It’s a small place that is in high demand. If money is a concern, this is not the place for you. Prices are considerable but worth every penny and then some. You could put this restaurant in the finest dining city in America and it would easily be in the top 3. Prepare yourself for an incomparable dining experience.More

first time for us and all around a great experience. i called on saturday afternoon and was very fortunate to find that someone had cancelled so a table for two was free at 7:30 - perfect! we spent 20 minutes at the bar as we...arrived early. craft beer selections exceeded our expectations. bartender was welcoming and kind. i had the double nickel pale ale which was solid. my spouse had the berry noir from boulevard and was very happy with it. the cocktails we observed being poured were very professionally done with extra love and care. we were seated right at our resevstion time which is nice. we had a corner table for two in the room without the bar. this was nice because it is less cramped and nice and quaint. it is clearly an addition to the main structure which dates to the 1800’s. our server was Kylie and she was great. knowledgeable, professional with a nice balance of fun and welcoming. a chef’s welcome treat was a beef and bleu cheese wonton. yummy but not “wow”. french bread and chocolate rye were delicious. appetizers - crab bisque was very good with generous amount of crab in a wonderful base that was neither to rich nor too thin - perfect. octupus appetizer was outstanding - possibly best cephalopod we’ve ever had. main course - scallops for my spouse - outstanding! shrimp for me were very good. they both were presented with beautiful surroundings of veggies, rissotto or lentils. we couldnt finish our meals so lunch tomorrow is in the fridge. desserts sounded great but we passed. the value for quality, quantity and service is very high. great night & we’ll be back soonMore

It’s not everyday that one contemplates traveling 4 1/2 hours for a meal. Yet, that is the position we now find ourselves in. There are not enough stars to give - this one goes to 11! My husband and I were on a weekend get-away...at a nearby resort and found this hidden gem on Trip Advisor. Our evening at the Savory Grille was a two hour, five course gastronomical delight. And now we have to figure out an excuse to treat ourselves again to what has instantly become one of our favorite dining experiences! Everything about this restaurant, housed in a 200+ year old building, is top notch. We started at the bar where the bartender Lucille crafts drinks with such care they are like works of art. The pumpkin pie martini with a graham cracker rim was perfect for the season. Lucille overheard my husband debating between choices and gave him samples of several to try. His favorite was a sour she recommended. Like all the staff, Lucille was very attentive, extremely knowledgeable and personable. The chef/owner sources food locally and the menu changes based on what’s in season. Every dish we tried was unique, perfectly balanced and incredibly delicious. Each ingredient on the plate was deliberately included to compliment every other ingredient. The balance of textures was impeccable. Here’s what we had as best we can remember: Chef starter - pork, slaw and red peer dressing French and black olive bread Appetizers - Foie gras with lemon pepper biscuit, blackberry jam “Mac n cheese” gnocchi with lobster bread crumbs House salad with seasoned tortilla strips, monk bean pieces and, we chose, spiced pear dressing Berkshire pork chop with shaved apples, fennel and potato cheddar croquette Chili cranberry veal cheeks with orange sweet potato purée, salsa verde - this also had some pickled onion and radish on top For dessert we had coffee with RumChata and salted caramel ice cream with coffee chocolate sauce in a lace cookie bowl. Dorothy our server was fantastic. The courses were spaced perfectly. Our water glasses were always full. Exceptional service by the entire service team. The chef came out to shake hands as well. A must try if you’re in the area - or if you’re not! Bring you culinary curiosity, your favorite family/friends and ENJOY!More
