Food was OK, not great, and not hot. Service was inattentive and slow. Took over 10 minutes for someone to take our drink orders. We arrived around 5:30 and didn't get our food until after 6:30. We did not get any updates from our waitress. This was a Sunday night and the dining room wasn't even half full. We did... More

Lovely renovated downtown venue. Good menu for Southern-style fare. The pulled pork is great and the brews good. Nice venue for good casual dining and conversation.

We enjoyed our meal here. Everything was good--just not great. We started with the soft pretzels, the mustard sauce was good but the garlic sauce was nasty. We wanted to try everything, so got the sampler for two...and got four meals out of it easily. The ribs were tender, the brisket was very good. We thought the pork was abit... More

Great atmosphere and could enjoy conversation because it didn't have the added noise level of many pubs. Went at 5:30 on a Friday night and were seated right away. The beer was excellent and the food was amazing... Get the BBQ pork plate! Highly recommend the sweet potato fries as well!

It took a very long time for the food to arrive and then also to receive our check and the restaurant wasn't completely full. The waitress was at the computer reviewing/sorting receipts most of the time and only checked on us one time during the meal. For a place that is to be known for it's BBQ, it only has... More

This was our first visit to Jo Boy's, but we hope it won't be the last. Very nice setting, it's clean and well organized, and both the food and service (Jen was our server) could not have been better. The sandwich came with their own chips--outstanding--as well as a very tasty pickle.

After I went to college in North Carolina, it was hard to find BBQ platters that compared to the restaurants down there. However, Jo Boys has some great food including the best and creamiest Mac and cheese I have ever tasted. I also get their hush puppies. I'm not a huge fan of their beer and the prices are on... My wife and I had a great meal here. The main restaurant was crowded so the hostess suggested the JoBoy's Speakeasy downstairs. It was great. You need to ring the bell to get it and know the password (we said alcohol) Of course all of that is in great fun to recall the speakeasy days! Once inside it is a... More

We stopped in one afternoon to check out the draft beers. We found them to be of excellent quality and well priced. The BBQ-themed food was excellent and interesting--particularly the BBQ'd wedge of cabbage. For being located in the middle of a tourist town, the place had a quiet and welcoming atmosphere. Definitely will go back.
