About
Elizabeth’s An American Bistro is a true bistro with casual dress, complete with good, hearty food made from the freshest ingredients. Located in the heart of the historic district of downtown Lewisburg, our usual 80+ seat, now with the social distancing, the restaurant is limited to 40 seats. Reservations are requested in our non-smoking restaurant. We are still offering takeout of food and wine to go. Serving the same menu all day Wednesday through Saturday from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Expect The Unexpected. Our back patio is open seasonally, weather permitting, for dining al fresco, and the patio is dog friendly.

We actuall left the Rusty Nail earlier that afternoon after we were seated and waited at the tble 20 minutes without ever seeing a waitress. I'm actually glad that happenned becasue we decided to so it right with a stop at Elizabeth's. First, dont let the 4 $ fool you becasue pricing was in line with the 3$ places we usually go to. Everything was excellant from the large and diverse menu selctions, the service, preparatin, atmoshphere etc. I had the Rack of Lamb, and my fmaily had one of the pasta specials and two checken dishes. The soup and Octopus appatisers were equally pleasing so don't his this spot in the heart of class in downtown Lewisburg.

I ordered the turkey breast and ham meals for my mother and family along with carrot cake fore dessert and can honestly say it was one of the best meals we've had in a long time. My dad and brother both fought over the carrot cake. Thanks Elizabeth, you and your crew are doing a great job in this sad time.

Elizabeth's has been amazing for our Friday Togo dinner during covid. Food is fresh, farm to table menu, packed well and we enjoy the complimentary dessert, if I remember to order by 4pm. Noticed they are open all day, we started picking up early to avoid the dinner rush. This is not fast food. Looking forward to celebrate my daughter’s 21st birthday, with one of the chef’s incredible flourless chocolate cakes. Being a city transplant to a small town has been an adjustment and having a nice local restaurant has made the move easier. I just hope the Asian salmon stays on their next seasonal menu. It’s become my fav. I recommend adding on a loaf of their sourdough bread & quart of homemade soup to your order.

This restaurant has good food and good service. However, the wait for the food it far too long. We have had lunch there where it took over an hour for a salad and dinner where it took 45 minutes for our first course. One of our guests had soup which was cold on arrival. It is a shame as it is so near the college and there are not many places at which to eat in Lewisburg. The prices do not match the food.

Going to Elizabeth’s is a wonderful experience all around. The staff is always so kind and treats you like family. We have never had a meal that has been less than 5 Stars. From the bread when you walk in to the homemade desserts you will never be disappointed!!! (If you go here you must get dessert) We have gone in person and done curbside pickup during covid. Have never had a bad experience with either. Best restaurant in Lewisburg.

A dining experience at Elizabeth’s makes you feel as though you are somewhere else. The relaxed atmosphere, the service, and the food, are superb! It is all something you would encounter in a big city but not usually around here. From the wine and homemade bread to the “must save room for” desserts, it is an experience that will completely satisfy your tastebuds. We had the Italian Fish stew with risotto, and the beef fillet, which were both fantastic. It was a melt in your mouth steak and a wonderfully flavored stew. I cannot fail to mention the salads, which could be a meal in and of themselves. I am still talking about the shaved Brussel sprouts salad! We love going to Elizabeth’s and so look forward to going back soon!

A remarkable hidden gem in the beautiful small town of Lewisburg. I live in NYC and I come back home just to eat here, because it's that good! Every dish is bursting with taste and the presentation is always outstanding. It's the only place I've gotten takeout during COVID, because it's consistently good. The main dishes (fish stew, shrimp risotto, brie & Mushroom quiche are sensational. If you want to have a meal that will make our tastebuds happy go here. You won't be disappointed.

We had a reservation for outside dining at 7pm. Our schedule was off and we never ate lunch so we stopped by at 5pm to see if they would seat us. And the answer was YES!!
The manager was so friendly and provided us with the suggestion to hike Rickett’s Glen. If you are visiting Lewisburg, I’d highly recommend.
Oh, back to the review if Elizabeth’s. The sangria was delicious and so refreshing. I had the Salmon on the Asian salad. It was yummy. My husband has the Grilled Salmon with pea cakes. And the fries!!!! The blend of potatoes with salt and cheese was perfect.
At 5pm the patio (aka converted parking lot) was very hot. We recommend this spot.

Yes, the patio can be hot during the day, to help with that, we are installing shade sails this week while we are closed for vacation. The food is good, not great. The ingredients are very good and fresh. Dishes are a little weird. But the service overall is really suspect. Serving warm white and rose wines is really low class. We had a order glasses of ice to make the wine drinkable. It’s seems there is no understanding of how an entire meal should come together as as experience. Rookie team in a nice building in a great little town.

My husband and I had a 7 PM dinner reservation on the patio. When we were directed to the patio there were no tables available. What about a reservation? We then returned to the dining room and were seated at a nice table. This was a special occasion and my husband ordered a bottle of white French wine. It took quite a while for the wine to arrive perhaps because it needed to be chilled. My husband ordered a small Caesar salad and the Trout entree. I ordered the clam and shrimp appetizer and the Bistro Crab Cake. Evidently there was a mix up in the kitchen and my clams and shrimp took much longer than expected. Our food when it arrived was well prepared, delicious and nicely presented. Our server sorry for the delay and we were comped 50% for my appetizer. It was a good if not perfect evening.

Catering with Elizabeths' was the perfect way to have a family celebration in our home, without the stress of food preparation. Elizabeth and Kate were extremely helpful in suggesting a creative, fresh menu that met a variety of dietary preferences, and that everyone loved. The food arrived at the time we requested, ready to be plated. Catering the event left me with the energy and focus to enjoy the family celebration. I recommend Elizabeth's for catering as well as for dining at the bistro.

My family and I ate here on a Friday night. They were very busy, we were taken care of by a very nice host and our server was polite and new the menu very well. A few of us have dietary restrictions and she was able to recommend items for each of us. I ended up getting the seafood pasta and the creme Brule. They were both delicious and the perfect size. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially those who love great food and good service, even on a really busy night.

In this new covid era- we felt completely comfortable. Our server Kate was “masked” and friendly and attentive: the outside tables were spaced well more than 6 ft from each other. The back patio had background music and a nice ambiance. Food was delicious would love to return

Elizabeths has been the go to restaurant for fine dining in Lewisburg for sometime. Sadly though, our most recent visit did not bear this out. Service was congenial, but incredibly slow. Our cocktail order was laughable… They brought out my husband‘s martini with no garnish, no olives, and a very conservative poor. My Manhattan was mostly vermouth and very little bourbon. My entrée salad did not have any blue cheese; my husband’s appetizer of clams and shrimp, was delicious, but quite small. Elizabeths needs to be careful here… There are some new competitors in town, and they cannot afford to rest on their past laurels.

Dear Sue, we take all reviews seriously, and we strive for incredible food and service every day of the last 26 years. The shrimp and clam appetizer has been the same size for the last 26 years. The pours for all martinis and Manhattans are per the PLCB & follow classic recipes. We garnish properly upon guest’s requests. We have never over poured, for our concern of our customers safety.
If you are under a time constraint, please just let us know, and we would love to accommodate you. We do make everything from scratch, and if you order a pizza to come out with the rest of your food it will take the 15 or so minutes the pizza takes to bake correctly.

What a wonderful experience I had at Elizabeth’s today. I know things must be hard with everything that’s going on right now but I appreciate the lengths that Elizabeth’s has gone through to keep customers safe and comfortable. I went with my brother and his husband for lunch and we all agreed that it was absolutely fantastic!!! The food was amazing and the service was outstanding!!! One of the best experiences we’ve ever had at a restaurant even in these hard times. Thanks, I will definitely be back!
Side note- We also had someone with a nut allergy at the table and they were very accommodating!
