Lancaster, PA is mistakenly, probably not considered to be one of the top dining spots in the country, but the next time you are visiting Amish Country, take a little detour into downtown Lancaster. This chic boutique Hotel named Lancaster Arts houses a fine farm to table restaurant that would be worthy of high scores in any city of the... More

We dined here as a family during Parent's Weekend at F&M to treat our daughter to a meal off campus. Whereas many restaurants these days claim to be "farm to table", they take it pretty seriously here. All the ingredients were spot on, and the selections were unique and the preparations were highly styled without crossing the line of being... More

Every meal that we've enjoyed at John J. Jeffries has been among the best. The bar serves up creative, carefully crafted and delicious cocktails, and the restaurant never disappoints with its fresh and inventive cuisine. My only hesitation in recommending this spot is that it will add to the demand and make it harder to make a reservation next time... More

My husband and I and another couple visited this restaurant during a long weekend in Amish Country. We started out at the bar and had some unusual drinks from the bar menu. One I cannot even spell- Ukeulahnia- or something like that- which my friend really enjoyed. In fact she ordered another one with dinner. I had a Continental Margarita... More

This restaurant is well-known in the area for serving locally-grown food in delicious ways. I had beef tartare, my companion had braised beef, both with interesting and delicious starters and desserts. The service was perfect, the presentations were lovely, and the food was superb. The atmosphere was quiet although the restaurant was full. The reputation is well-deserved, and I'll return... More

We had the choice of inside the restaurant or out in the courtyard, we chose outside on such a lovely evening! Our waiter took the time to talk us through the menu and as very attentive. The food was tasty and very well presented. Thoroughly recommend.

I wanted fresher fare and lighter flavors but didn't get it here. This was highbrow, service was great, but the general texture of the food was too chicken pot pie mac'n cheese-like for my taste. Crowded, so maybe I chose wrong.

Our B&B innkeeper recommended this farm-to-table restaurant which celebrates meats and produce from Lancaster County. What a delightful meal! The menu selections were plenty and varied. Our server was great with offering pairing suggestions. The portions were substantial and perfectly prepared and presented. The braised dry-aged beef and duck confit entrées were succulent. They offer a great wine list and... More

This was the first of two dinners at restaurants in Lancaster, PA, that we tried on this trip. Both were highly recommended by trustworthy friends, and we eagerly arrived early at John J. Jeffries (JJJ), in anticipation of a truly outstanding Farm to Table experience. Almost everything at JJJ hit on all cylinders, even with a high-octane kick! We had... More

Farm to table. Many excellent restaurants in Lancaster do that. JJJ makes it a theme but there is more. The food is very well prepared. Service is impeccable. Owners are available. The dining area is quiet, something you want on a special occasion. Check it out. I think you'll like it.

During renovations, workers found in the floor beams a signed inspection stamp--November 5, 1890--with the name of tobacco inspector John J. Jeffries. We named the restaurant after him.

We’ve designed our menu based on local, seasonal, sustainable and organic agriculture and delicious recipes. Please join us and taste the difference of local farm-to-table sustainable cuisine in one of Lancaster's best fine dining restaurants.
As the Chefs and Owners of John J Jeffries, we believe you will find our passion for supporting local businesses and preserving the land we live on, to be contagiously obvious in how we run our restaurant.
All of our meats are raised locally, confinement-free on fresh green grass pastures. No hormones, antibiotics, steroids or forced-fertilization occurs.

Our produce is local organic or chemical free. We use local grass fed cream, butter and eggs.
