Our very good friends in Lititz made reservations for John J Jeffries and promised us an outstanding meal. Our server, Henry, really gave us hope that this would be one heck of a night, his knowledge of the wine list, description of dishes was excellent....More

Loved the eclectic choices! This is a wonderful place to try different combinations, especially since many items are also on the small plates. Our server Henry was knowledgeable and had a great personality. The atmosphere is sparse, but comfortable.

While it's a bit pricey, the food (and service!) made it worth it. Definitely a great place to go for a special occasion.

The food is some of the best in Lancaster. Changes with the seasons, lots of locally sourced everything. Just a good, solid experience. Good for a nice quiet dinner for two in the dining room, but we just love to sit at the bar and...More

Hmm!! I will start with the parking which could be confusing for people not around, there is plenty of parking for the ‘Art hotel’. So please feel free to park there, I like the ambience, old structure kept and maintained very nice. Loved some of...More

This restaurant came highly recommended by our friends who frequently dine there. Totally didn't meet our expectations. The dishes were completely unremarkable. We ate there a week a go and I have no recollection of what we ate - it was so forgettable. I mean,...More

Reservations are a must. We enjoyed a fine dinner with excellent service from Julie. The atmosphere was subdued and although busy nothing suffered. The menu was different and changes throughout the year so what we had may be different. You may want to check their...More

Wife and I recently ate here on a visit and the food was amazing. The dessert was really good my wife got the chocolate cake and I got a honey lavender creme brulee that was awesome.

Food is good. Different options from the ordinary. But as others have said, they run out of some items fast. So probably making reservations would be the best advice or else you end up sitting at the bar and having fewer choices of dinner entrees.

There is no children's menu. This is, as the previous response noted, an adult restaurant. I don't recall seeing children there.

I can't honestly answer that, as we ended up dining at the bar, rather taken with the supremely gracious and entertaining bartender. The actual dining room is deeper within the restaurant. I do recall points of light among... More

During renovations, workers found in the floor beams a signed inspection stamp--November 5, 1890--with the name of tobacco inspector John J. Jeffries. We named the restaurant after him.

We’ve designed our menu based on local, seasonal, sustainable and organic agriculture and delicious recipes. Please join us and taste the difference of local farm-to-table sustainable cuisine in one of Lancaster's best fine dining restaurants.
As the Chefs and Owners of John J Jeffries, we believe you will find our passion for supporting local businesses and preserving the land we live on, to be contagiously obvious in how we run our restaurant.
All of our meats are raised locally, confinement-free on fresh green grass pastures. No hormones, antibiotics, steroids or forced-fertilization occurs.

Our produce is local organic or chemical free. We use local grass fed cream, butter and eggs.

We also provide sustainable seafood and support sustainable fisheries.
