About
During renovations, workers found in the floor beams a signed inspection stamp--November 5, 1890--with the name of tobacco inspector John J. Jeffries. We named the restaurant after him. We’ve designed our menu based on local, seasonal, sustainable and organic agriculture and delicious recipes. Please join us and taste the difference of local farm-to-table sustainable cuisine in one of Lancaster's best fine dining restaurants. As the Chefs and Owners of John J Jeffries, we believe you will find our passion for supporting local businesses and preserving the land we live on, to be contagiously obvious in how we run our restaurant. All of our meats are raised locally, confinement-free on

Our theatre group (Wednesday matinee's at the fabulous Fulton Theatre) has dinner at a restaurant in Lancaster after each show. By FAR, our favorite is John J. Jeffries. The food is every bit as good as our favorite restaurants in NYC, Philadelphia and Baltimore. In...More

Everything about this restaurant was top notch. They knew we were celebrating an anniversary and made the couple very welcome (with a free dessert). The food was excellent--all locally sourced, with several vegetarian options (a rarity). A good choice of wines and after-dinner drinks. The...More

We recently ate at JJJ's and the experience left me wishing I went elsewhere on my one night in Lancaster. Anything and everything we ordered was not good. Except a maple cheesecake that was a special. The flavors and tastes in the dishes we tried...More

I always worry 9usually for no good reasons...) when I travel outside of NYC that my only dinner options will resume to fast food chains (Olive bloody Garden, Taco Bell anyone?) and yet I am constantly reminded that you will find good, thoughtful food almost...More

This restaurant was a perfect choice for our overnight getaway to Lancaster. The restaurant is simple and beautiful-Brick walls, white tablecloths, muted sounds. The farm to table offerings were simply prepared and delicious. We will return!

There is no children's menu. This is, as the previous response noted, an adult restaurant. I don't recall seeing children there.
