First time at Gibraltar. Reservations are highly recommended. Our food was excellent. Tuna and Prime Filet. Staff was very professional and accommodating. Wouldn’t advise small children. Large enough to accommodate a large group w a reservation. Would definitely recommend. $$$$

I reviewed Gibraltar in 2012 when it was by F&M. In 2021 it's still the premier special occasion place to go in Lancaster, in my opinion. I'm a foodie, so it's all about the food, and they excel in that. Wife and I went for...my B-day and I had the Kennett Square mushroom appetizer, the filet mignon with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus, and the chocolate lava cake. My Wife had the scallop entree. All were beautifully crafted with "step up" flavor and textural contrasts that are the hallmark of a great restaurant. We ate at 5PM (Geezer time!) and we were the only customers there for about an hour. By the time we left at about 6:30PM it was half full, and this was a Tuesday. We were cold (even later on) and read the thermometer on the wall which said 67 degrees F so we mentioned this to one of the passing servers, and he said "yes, it is" and moved on without any other comment. I would have expected some kind of empathy, or even offer to "up the temp" a little bit. As with a lot of restaurants, our server came over at least 3 times during the beginning of our meals to ask how everything was, but then later seemed to disappear, even though we were the only ones in the restaurant. After having an empty glass of iced tea on our table for 15 minutes... I had to call over someone to get a refill. This seems to happen at many places, but in a restaurant as "high-class" as this one, they should be more attentive. There was an early-bird 15% off promotion that we read about on their website, but when our bill came it was not on the itemized listing. Unfortunately, I forgot about that option (geezer again...) and didn't realize it until we left. They could have been (again) more attentive to putting that on the bill since we arrived slightly before the doors opened, so we couldn't get any more "early-birdy" than that! So the service aspect was, although good in general, a little bit lacking in the items I mentioned. But GO FOR THE FOOD! It's absolutely wonderful. The price is right for what they deliver. Last item... it was getting very noisy by the time we left, but that's all restaurants these days. We're hard of hearing, so it's almost impossible to hear with a lot of background noise. But that's our problem, not yours, hopefully. We just compensate by eating early.More

We went to Gibraltargrille for my birthday. We haven’t been to this restaurant since they moved out of Lancaster. The food was excellent! I had the halibut and my wife the chicken. Both cooked perfectly and came out hot. Service was very good and helpful...with our selections. Topped off with a glass of Gran Mariner Quintessence made for a wonderful evening. The atmosphere is more grille like rather than linens on the table fine dining but the food is still great. We were in at 7PM and out at 9.More

My wife and I got a kid-free night last night and decided to eat at the Gibraltar, a restaurant we've enjoyed in the past. Last night's experience was easily the best we had there, and one of the best restaurant experiences we've had overall. The...restaurant was very busy, with only bar seating available for us. We saw first-hand exactly how amazing the bar and bartenders are. Many fine restaurants in Lancaster County have excellent bars and unique cocktails, but the Gibraltar stands out among them in the variety, number, and complexity of their cocktails. The bartenders were some of the hardest working (yet somehow still cheerful) I've ever seen. They were clearly professionals who enjoyed their craft. The food was excellent as well. The restaurant has the best raw bar I've seen this far inland, and it's the only place I've seen in PA to date that has caviar on the menu. The restaurant is pricey, but you definitely get your money's worth in the form of extremely fine food and cocktails you likely won't find anywhere else in the area. It's hard to rank restaurants in Lancaster County because there are so many excellent ones, but after last night I'd put Gibraltar in my top three for sure. My wife and I express our thanks to the owner, staff, and especially the bartenders for make our experience so enjoyable.More

A solid experience - an extensive wine list and wonderful service. I had an excellent seafood dish. Salad was fresh. Started with a nice appetizer. Just an overall nice visit.

Given the times we opted for the Thanksgiving menu takeout and Wow! A true test of this particular holiday's meal is how were the leftovers--and in this case delicious! In fact the meal itself was huge and the turkey included both white and dark meat....Loved it!! Highly, highly recommend!More

Hip Big-City vibe yet quaint and cozy all wrapped up in one. This is a can’t miss restaurant in Lancaster! The staff is welcoming and attentive. The service was perfect. Their attention to detail was not overlooked. Great wine selection to pair with our meal....Food quality met and exceeded our expectations. The ambiance was modern contemporary with a hint of romance. The lighting contributed to a wonderful mood throughout the establishment. High recommendations for Gibraltar!!More
