Duck tacos are to die for and the steak was brilliant. Dark intimate interior, great waiting staff and excellent food. Would go again if ever in that part of the world.

Unexpected gem in Lancaster! The evening started out with the waitress offering us tastings of the two wines we were debating about!! Really nice touch! Calamari cooked to perfection! I had the petite filet which was cooked perfectly and the wine reduction sauce infused with coffee was spot on. My husband had the diver scallops and he said they were... More

While in a strip mall and unassuming from the outside, Checkers has a beautiful, chic, cozy interior. We often go here to sit at the bar for a drink and delicious appetizers. When it's on the menu, the shrimp and grits are fantastic. Also, the roasted beet and goat cheese salad is perfect.

We were looking for a nice restaurant for our anniversary dinner. As with everything else, a lot of better restaurants in Lancaster are closed on Sundays but Checkers was not so we took a chance and were very glad we did. The food was exceptional, one of the best meals I have ever had locally. Yes, the portions were on... More

Finally made it to Checkers to see what my Lancaster friends were talking about. We received a friendly greeting and chat upon entering and the service was excellent. The food was good although the portions were smaller than I am used to. The décor was great and the bar impressive.

Loved the food, loved the staff, loved the interior! the wine list was extensive, the menu filled with delicious options for big and small appetites. The appetizers might have been enough--portions and flavors were both satisfying-- but the entrees sealed the deal. tried the deserts. the staff came out with a White platter, with the following words written in Chocolate:... Recently ate dinner at Checkers. The menu was creative, but very overly priced for the small portions that were served. The kale salad I ordered before the entree was the size of an ice cream scoop and cost $12. The 4oz petite filet came with 3 aspargus spears,a very small portion of potatoes and cost $24. While the filet was... More

You can't associate anything about this fine dining gem with the fast food Checkers. Our Inn-keeper suggested we dine here and we will be forever grateful. He suggested a dinner of small plates because their "food is phenomenal!" We had the salted flash-fried, squid marinated in saki. Wow! Then the Peking Duck won ton Tacos, fantastic. We finished with the... More

Almost impossible to get in without a reservation so I suggest you get one. The food is amazing the service is great as well. I had the Char fish that was a special that evening and it was unbelievable? Creamy, butter like flavor. The only thing I didn't like about the restaurant is the tables are too close to each... It was a family dinner. Company was more important than food , yet we were impressed by the quality and quantities.
