The owner is the most rude, arrogant and disrespectful person in town. I am a valuable deaf customer for 25 years. We’ve had a few problems with them but continued to come back anyway. In the past, the owner aggressively forced us out of our...table after being seated because we were blocking the aisle and gave our seat to someone else. We had a newborn baby and were waiting for hours. He had no sympathy or compassion for the mother and infant waiting so long. And just tonight, we were waiting a long time once again, only to be abused and oppressed by the owner and manager. Another table was rudely/unthoughtfully lingering at their table for way too long. Maybe I shouldn’t have, but I very politely asked them with my voice and my sign language simultaneously “are you leaving soon? we would love to have your table.” The woman smiled and said “yes, sure, almost done.” We gave each other thumbs up with smiles and I went back to wait with my wife and chat until the table became available. But apparently this woman reported me to the manager and boss, claiming I was aggressively telling her to “get out of here!!!” with my aggressively flailing hands (aka my sign language). It was absolutely not true. The manager came to me to scold me for being so aggressive and rude to the other table. I tried to explain this just wasn’t true, but there was a lack of communication somewhere. Instead, the manager gave me dirty looks and I demanded to talk to her boss. If this was a black person feeling oppressed (BLM), they’d be more respectful, I’m sure of it. The boss, who left a bad taste in my mouth with his feisty attitude (and doesn’t let you get a word in) comes storming in, with no means of communicating with his deaf and valuable customer. He claims I threatened his 100 lbs manager who is female and she is now terrified of me (I did absolutely nothing wrong, just tried to communicate my feelings, which is hard with the masks on and cannot lip read). He also claims he saw me walk to the table twice, angrily signing to them to get out of here (also lie- I went once, and I never ever said “get out.”) I was shocked the woman from the other table reported it. He also said I told the manager to “go f*** yourself” which I also never said. The owner is a liar, he doesn’t have respect for the Deaf culture, he has zero means of communicating, and does not care about his customers. We waited and waited for over an hour to get dinner, but instead, we left with no dinner, feeling very oppressed and offended by his lack of respect for deaf people. A hearing family member called to speak with the owner and instead of the apologetic “customer is always right” attitude, he instead was extremely defensive and wouldn’t let anyone get a word in edgewise. A real jerk. Plus, since COVID began, the take out food has been skimped out on food. They add less and charge the same amount. We will never go back again.More
