Made a special request for small (1/2 size) dishes of 4 appetizers and ordered a salad (would love to see an option on the menu for a version of what, in The South, we call a Vegetable Plate). Everything was absolutely delicious, as good as...food I have had at Persian friends’ homes. Headed back the next time in the area. Keep up your incredible high quality cooking!More

Terrific, attentive service, and all the dishes were well prepared and delicious. Plus a great value, especially considering the large portions. I can never pass up the wonderful eggplant appetizer (mirza ghasemi), and the hummus was expertly made and one of the best I have...had anywhere.More

Food was ok. Service was extremely bad. If u wanna go there just for 'to go' then it should be fine. But not recomended for dine-in with that kind of attitudes from the staffs.

Persian food is a wonderful and when it is good, it is great! The unusual mix of spices, fresh hummus, pita, lamb accented to elevate its flavor, basmati rice and shirazi salads...and the Persian Grille embodies the best taste and value combination I have rarely...ever had! While the Persian Grille, just past Chestnut Hill but in its "sphere", has been around since 1984, I have been remiss in not eating there until lately. Now, I find myself saying, "Uh, how about the Persian Grille for lunch?" This is an EXTREMELY affordable meal that sacrifices nothing. In fact, I have rarely paid less for such delicious food -- not that that mattered, because I am a firm believer in great food should be charged at the price the market and restaurant thinks is fair. The ingredients are well applied, the dishes are of perfect proportion and whether the special of the kababs or gyro, having ordered a range of food, everything was superb. When I say, "down-to-earth", I mean the restaurant has no pretense; it is fairly spare in the dishware and cutlery; the interior is plain and very diner-like. So eats the OutspokenTraveler!More

Enjoyed the food and the server as she explained the ingredients to newcomers. Very relaxing and a great experience.

We've been eating here for 20 years through several ownership changes but the food hasn't changed. Authentic Persian food served in abundance. I like the skewered chicken with Basmati rice. Plenty for dinner and next day lunch. It is a good sign when so many...Iranian-americans eat there.More

It took us a long time to try this place, but after years of living in LH, we decided to give them a try. So glad we did. Consistently good Persian food. I love the chicken kabob and my husband will get the beef. The...hummus is very tasty. I even use it as a salad dressing if we go for lunch. Yum!More

Went here for dinner. The place was extremely busy and we had to wait 30 minutes to get a table despite making reservations. The staff is very friendly and courteous. Especially the owner who makes sure that his guests get the attention they deserve. The...food was typical Persian and fairly authentic. Great place for a casual dinner.More

Dined at Persian Grille in Lafayette Hill, off Germantown Pike. Ambiance of a family run restaurant and often filled w foreign nationals. Cuisine is excellent w a wide assortment of traditional entrees and a number of vegetarian options. Selected Bareh Koubideh—Lamb on 2 skewers and...the veggie version of Shereen Polo. The latter is quite delectable with slivered almonds, orange peels, slivered carrots and pistachios. There is also a similar offering of SP with Cornish Hen—which I’ve ordered on previous occasions. All were excellent and the lamb was tasty. I asked for the sizes of draft beer available and ordered what was a pint. Our waitress indicated size by holding her hand above the table to indicate height of glass. This is a laid back dining experience and consistent with other similar types of Persian restaurants I have dined at elsewhere. Some families with small children are welcome.More

It’s sometimes difficult to get together with other family members. Persian Grill has become a focal point for us. Not pretentious... just wonderful food and really friendly staff. Lamb is great.

Ask for it. There is usually some Tahdig if you go at the right time (i.e. when they are reaching to the bottom of "Dig" to be able to extract Tahdig!)

I believe the only way to know for sure would be to call them. When we ate there, it was lunchtime and I did not get the impression we were restricted in selections. The menu for lunch seemed long and varied as well. I... More
