I visited the cowrie restaurant for my birthday with our kids , i found the staff professional and helpful. The seafood was very fresh , they even picked us up with their courtesy bus. This is a quality restaurant worth a visit for those special occasions.

I like this restaurant. We don't live far away from this restaurant and we've eaten here several times over the years and have never had a bad experience or had food that wasn't up to scratch. It's in a residential area overlooking all of Terrigal / Wamberal beaches and most of the tables (especially the ones on the balcony) get... More

Superb food well presented and although those who had the seafood platters said it lacked a bit of flavour this was made up for in the service and the quality of the cooling for the other dishes.

Fabulous location, was able to book table at short notice and welcoming entrance. We had the tasting menu, which was a great mix of flavours. Prawns and slipper lobster were overcooked but still very tasty. Beef option was superb, would go back just for the beef. Service needs some refining for such an establishment. We had to asked 3 times... More

A globe was missing immediately above one of our diners and, because of 'ambient' lighting made it impossible to read the menu. When questioned, we were told that 'the globe was out, it had been like that for 3 days'. Clearly if they'd known that, why had it not been attended to? No regard for diners comfort. The food was... 4 of us here. Never been here. View nice. Expectations very high from what I've heard. Waitresses lovely. The other 3 had seafood tasting dish and loved it. I had the duck, bloody hell magnificent. Others had various red meat dishes and loved it. I had fish of the day, seared salmon. Again bloody hell magnificent. The warm salad and... More

We booked the 12pm seating for eight people. What an amazing view and atmosphere. The table was the best position. The Family party was of 3 well matured ladies in their mid to late 80s and the rest where younger and dine out regularly. The Lunch Menu are of La carte 2 courses $49 3 courses $59 With a complimentary... More

The Cowrie is almost an institution in Terrigal, and for many years has been THE place to eat. Considered superior in terms of fine dining, and location, it was disappointing recently, to find that it seems to no longer deliver. The service was ok, a little slow, the food while nice and presented well, seemed to lack flavour overall. The... More

Went here for lunch during the week, they have a lunch special, which is good value, though you can also order a-la-carte. We also took our baby and it wasn't an issue. The view is outstanding, you can see all of Terrigal, Wamberal, Forresters to the headland. Most seats have a view, though obviously right next to the window is... More

This restaurant has a commanding outlook over Terrigal with panoramic water views. To enjoy and maximise your time with the serene views your best to have lunch! There is realistically only tight street parking. The service is good and the decor is modern. The menu has a range of options as well as a quality set menu options. The food... More
