Wonderful interior of the Niargra Cafe, with early photos of its famous customers alongside sporting pics and family history. Evocative stories served up with good old fashioned, tasty and simple fare - toasted sandwiches, pots of tea and milkshakes. Classic and not-to-be-missed!

Go here for the amazing time capsule décor and the wonderful collection of news and history - all in all that is worth the experience - don't expect a modern Sydney menu the food is basic café of its era - but go here it's a classic experience and must be enjoyed

A beautiful Art Deco style cafe, still in the condition and appearance of half a century ago. Sitting and eating in the quaint wooden booths was an experience. Plenty of people came in to eat while we were there, but the service was fast and efficient. There was time to end the historic news items on the walls. We never... More

We were on our way back from Victoria and stopped in for lunch Sunday. We got takeaway as we didn't think it would take as long. We were able to sit and enjoy the café for all its historical things while we waited. It was a busy service so it seemed forever to get food but in reality probably only... More

Counting on the nostalgia factor, this cafe offers simple food, cooked well and reasonably priced. We had breakfast one day and lunch another, mainly because food options are limited in town. The coffee is excellent.

After seeing the cafe recently on a TV show, we just had to visit when passing through Gundagai. And I'm glad we did. The interior of the cafe does resemble something from years ago, but it's a little mixed these days with some modern decor as well and a little tired. If it could be returned to a typical old... We went there for breakfast. The menu is limited due to a family sickness emergency but the food is lovely. Had some eggs and bacon and they were fantastic, the yolk cooked to perfection, crispy and tasty bacon over two thick bread slices. The memorabilia in the walls is amazing and the decoration is just a historic gem. It is... More

Called into Gundagai on the trip back from Sydney to Melbourne. It is and Art Deco enthusiasts heaven as many of the town buildings are of that era including the Niagara Cafe. Thought we would stop in for a quick bite to eat and hit the road as soon as possible. My first mistake was not checking Trip Adviser reviews... More

A quirky basic restaurant and café. Slow service to get food served. Quite tasty and enjoyable salad. Lots of standard takeaway fare. Minor historic interest.
