What a shame......whoever is responsible for settling on the luncheon menu at this stalwart in the beautiful north coast NSW hinterland has missed the point as to what has made it so successful over the last decade. We visited again after 12 months ; sat at the same table and couldn't go past the lamb shoulder again. A beautiful day with fine service and lamb that melted in your mouth,complemented by local vegetables. Again, there was plenty over to take home for another meal, so excellent value.

I get the vibe. Using natural flora and fauna is great,but felt totally suckered with the portion size. Beautiful restaurant with a great ambience and feel. Had been before so was excited to return. Felt really let down when we were shown to a table mid room, when there were others around the edge we would have preferred. No water offered or wine list for at least 15 minutes and it was not busy. Went there today for a Birthday lunch with my mother and daughter. What a disappointment! Used to love this place. Menu was not enticing at all, didn't fancy any of it. We went to this restaurant in a very large group and had to have the set menu. Not always enough for all but this was the total exception. We had lunch here and loved the location. The little town took some finding but is so pretty. We sat on the verandah ad shred a number of dishes . They did fish really well and have some really good wines available by the glass. Highly recommended.

Harvest is surely the best restaurant in the area, arguably the best in NSW and even in Australia when it comes to imaginative, skilful, gourmet Australian cuisine. The chefs are superb, the waitstaff outstanding, the ambiance perfect. One of their secrets is their use of foraged materials (they have their own forager: farmers friend, neptune’s pearls, strawberry gum, sow thistle...)... More
