Food was really tasty! And it was quite big. I couldn't have it all! A fish with salad and best thing ever: crispy sweet potato! The only bad thing is that it's located at a small street with no ocean view. Still worth it!

AVOID. Ordered fish and chips. Small bowl of mushy chips topped with 2 thin, small slices of greasy poorly fried fish with skin on. Table was sticky. Partner ordered some hoki. 2 ridiculously small cubes of fish I'm rearlly curious why they serve food in ridiculously sized miniature BOWLS when fried food requires space to drain off the grease. This way,... More

I went to Fishmongers the first tome a year ago. I had the Byron Box and loved it. In a year time I had the chance to try most of the menu: the tacos(only for lunch) is very colorful, crunchy and easy to share with someone! The grilled king prawns are to die for: they're absolutely delicious. Another highlight goes to... More

On our holiday in Byron Bay 3 years ago we tried Fish Mongers and had a couple nice meals. Still expensive for fish and chips but ok. This time while in Byron this week, we went again...they gave our food to someone else because of a name mix-up, then made us wait again...all up 45 minutes. The food was pretty... More

Had the fish n chips. Wasn't impressed with the chips they not crunchy they more like wedges that were a bit hard. Fish was nice but prefer fish with no skin on. Service pretty good. Won't go back as there much nicer places for fish n chips close by. The deep fried Vegys though were really delicious.

We went for dinner here last night based on the reviews here and I'd heard of the fish mongers in Sydney. We should have realised when we got there and it was half empty on Saturday night that the claims of being one of the best fish and chippies on the east coast where an exaggeration. We ordered the seafood... More

We go here a lot. Both lunch and dinner. We love it, but you have to expect that it is not a fine dining restaurant. The fish is always superb, although having said that we only ever order the fresh fish from the board to the left of the main menu. Our personal favourite side dish is the tempura vegies... More

On our first night in Byron Bay, Ariane and I have wandered around looking for a small restaurant where we could have a light dinner, as we had a heavy lunch, and that it was getting quite late in the night. We came across the Fish Mongers that looked familiar as we have been to a similar one in Manly.... More

I was after something fresh and fast. The fish wrap delivered. Located in a groovy back alley behind "The Beachie" Fish Mongers is ideally located and pretty cruisey. Worth a visit whilst you're in BYRON.
