We were recently in Cornwall and stopped in at Sam's on the Beach! Overall the staff were quite friendly and attentive, the location amazing and the food was decent. Given the amount of fresh seafood we had had in Cornwall it wasn't the best meal (the mussels needed better cleaning) and the bread was a bit dry. But, other than... More

We were staying at a nearby B&B and used TripAdvisor to hunt out a good restaurant nearby. Glad we took everyone's advice. The food here was excellent! My wife and I shared grilled sardines and whole soft shelled crab for starters. They were both delicious, my daughter loved the crab legs! I ordered the belly pork for my main, and... More

A superb lunch at Sam's on the Beach. We arrived around 14.30 when, I imagine, the lunch time rush was starting to die down and had no trouble securing a table with a wonderful view of Polkerris beach. Scallops with Black Pudding and Bacon followed by Red Thai Mussels. Both very well cooked and delicious. Very much recommended for a... More

Real shame to write this review but we've been visiting Sams on the Beach since it first opened probably every 3 months or so. Last time around 2 months ago we thought it had got rather pricey for it's rustic food on offer. On the last recent visit, the pizzas we had, although good for the area, were not a... More

Hoped for a table of 3 at 1330 on a Tuesday but the place was full. We were advised to return at 1500 which we did and were greeted warmly with a nice table overlooking the beach. We opted for mains only as we were feeling the food effects of our Cornish tour. One portion of prawns. One portion of... More

We have been a few times now. Always local produce. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. A bit pricey but worth it for a special occasion.

Nice food, nothing special but over priced £12.95 for a pizza seems expensive, the holidaying London set may find this acceptable but I doubt the locals or non London visitors will be impressed.
