First visit to this impressive restaurant in the charming village of Lostwithiel ... after hearing of its positive reviews. A lovely bistro with friendly staff and simply stunning food. Our starters, 'sticky king prawns' and 'Cornish seafood fishcakes' were perfectly served and bursting with flavour. Freshly caught haddock was the recommended main course and we both agreed this was the... More

We had a meal here in July 2016 and were very happy with everything. Calogero's is on a pretty street in the heart of Lostwithiel. The ambience was lovely and the choice of food was perfect. Plenty for us as non-meat eaters. I would defintely recommend it.

If you love Italian food this small restaurant is not to be missed. The food was outstanding and the Prawns are the best starter I have eaten in a restaurant for a long time. Make sure you book as they get busy in the summer evenings and Luke hate for you to miss out

We had heard great things about this restaurant and were delighted to finally be in the area to try it out. One of my pet peeves is going to an Italian restaurant and the chef not being italian... Thankfully John is as Sicilian as me!! We were not disappointed!! The sticky prawns were a huge hit with my husband and... More

We live in Lostwithiel and decided we'd treat ourselves to a (rare) meal out. Calogero's was a rare treat, the portions were generous, very tasty and very good value. And although it was quite full when we arrived, we were served in a timely fashion and didn't have a prolonged wait. Tips: book ahead and take cash (no cards accepted)

Calogero's food lived up to its excellent reputation. However, we were surprised by the unfriendly attitude of our waiter, even though it was a quiet weeknight with only one or two other tables occupied.

We were a party of seven people, and were advised that as there were so many of us we should book for 6.30pm. We were also told that we needed to pre order by lunchtime. We were greeted by a very friendly waitress and the service was good. 5 of us had various pizza's all of them were very good,... More

We have visited this restaurant lots of times and have sampled breakfast, lunch and evening meals which has never been disappointing. I can recommend the calamari which is cooked in the most delicious light batter. The steaks are cooked to perfection. There is a wide range of choice on the menu with a great selection for gluten free. The staff... More

Wonderful food, good service and good value. They don't accept cards so take cash. Allow £25-£30 per person for 3 courses, but large portions so you may not need all 3.

Description
A busy bistro set in the heart of the idyllic town of Lostwithiel, Cornwall. Calogero's was formally known as Terra Nova. We felt that the surname of the Sicilian head chef, who took over the business in 2011, was better suited to the type of food we now serve. Calogero's is pronounced with a soft 'g'. Our menu ranges from authentic home cooked Italian meals to traditional English dishes, using fresh and locally sourced ingredients. We have a large selection of vegetarian dishes and a separate minimal gluten menu (no gluten containing ingredients). Freshly ground Italian sourced coffee and treats are served throughout the day.
