Stopped off after walking our dog at Holywell Bay,both the pubs were closed there so we drove on to The Bowgie,as I remembered hearing it's advert on the radio, for great food.Friendly staff but couldn't open a tab with a card.I ordered the spinach and ricotta quiche, hubs had lamb curry and rice. The quiche was soggy on the bottom, bland tasting and stodgy,lots... My sister and I visited this pub today upon recommendations and we were very disappointed! We both had quiche Lorraine with salad and chips and this can only be described as a scrambled egg pie! We did complain about it but our concerns were not taken seriously. We were not even allowed a refund or a free dessert. When we... More

We came here for the first time on the recommendation of a friend. It was in a lovely setting overlooking Crantock Bay. We both ordered Quiche Lorraine with fries and salad. Unfortunately the quiche was made with too much egg and the salad was wet and made the quiche go soggy. I took them back but they wouldn't give us... More

The pub is huge with a panoramic 180o view of Crantock Bay. We visited in March when we were virtually the only customers. Staff were excellent and friendly, especially the girl serving behind the bar. (14/3) The food I would say is limited to a sort of Pub Grub and so much more could be done but tasted great. No... We had a weekend in Cornwall and came across this delightful pub. You have the most fabulous view of the sea from the bar which is for adults only But families can dine in the other areas. The food is lovely and a good selection on offer.we dined here twice, having the Sunday roast which didn't disappoint, just couldn't manage the pudding... More

If you want big portions of good pub food with a fantastic view then look no further than The Bowgie. As long as you're not expecting anything too fancy then you'll have a decent slightly overpriced meal. The presentation of the meal leaves a lot to be desired but the view of the beach distracts you from looking too hard... More

Visited this place as we usually do whilst staying down in Cornwall. Situated overlooking the bay and beach of Crantock in West Pentire, signposted out of Newquay from the main road towards Perranporth. Always very good service from friendly staff members. Lots of nooks and crannies to sit in, also shows Sky TV for those that like football, sport etc.... More

Self catering holiday most of our dinners were eaten here, great selection of food at reasonable prices, it also caters well for children with their own play area (which you don't see a lot in pubs these days unless it's a wacky warehouse ) Beach is about 15 mins away walking along coastal path or 5 mins in the car... We visit Crantock most years and have visited the Bogie for drinks only until last week when we chose to have our evening meal there. We ordered meals for 4 people and it did raise alarm bells when the food was on our table within 5 minutes! Everything was microwaved, soggy quiche, skinny gammon (defo not an 8 oz steak)... More
