About
The Prince Blucher is a charming, traditional pub right on Twickenham Green. Being close to the home of England rugby, with great food, ale, big garden and service it really does tick all the boxes.

Very expensive food and drink.
Food took nearly 1 hour to come out after I chased and only saw 4 other people eating.
Burger was inedible and portions tiny.
Had 3 pints and was charged 3 different prices with a £1.20 price spread.
Area is nice and outside area pleasant. But don’t eat here even if you can afford the inflated prices.

The roast dinner was absolutely spot on – decent portions, beautifully cooked meat, with all trimmings, including cauliflower cheese. Went there to watch the footie, plenty of screens around so ideal. Really friendly staff aas well, will definitely be coming back again.

Booked a table for a family meal unfortunately only a limited set price menu was available due to a rugby fixture ..food average with a sponge pudding served cold ! Prices inflated by at least 30% probably to pay the numbers of staff , at least 4 at all times during our visit standing at the till. Avoid on a rugby day unless you wish to pay for a mediocre meal at an inflated price

Staff were really nice, the the food was expensive for what it was. My daughter have a chicken burger (thigh) and the thigh was tiny. Literally a small circle of meat in a big bun. The pork schnitzel was tough and a small bit of mushroom sauce on top, and the chips were basically countable, maybe 15? The thing is the prices were not pub grub, and because you couldn't order at the bar the bill included service too. £70 for really very little and nothing more than you could do for yourself from tesco. I don't mind spending money if you feel that you haven't been shafted.

They were fully booked when the four of us walked in for lunch. They kindly organised us a table in the bar area away from the boisterous rugby fans.
The service was better than many we’ve experienced, with all those rugby fans to serve, the staff did a good job.
Our drinks were promptly delivered, our food was very well presented, albeit long awaited, and delicious, even though expensive, in line with the price.
I would recommend this Pub to my friends.

RUDE staff! When asking for help ignored until I had to put my hand up like a child to try to gain the waitress attention, (to busy talking to other staff in the coffee area and flirting with chefs) she shouted WHAT?!
rather than walking over and helping me while taking my order. I was told that asking excuse me several times to no effect that then rasing my hand like a child in a class room waiting there turn was Rude?
I asked her did you just say what when I've addressed you with excuse me? To which she replied I didn't mean what, so I asked for the issue to be resolved calmly and explained that the drinks she poured where flat and she had not finished the order or even taken payment. I was told by the other staff that saying excuse me while having then then repeat myself to gain her attention was rude.
The blonde waitress with glasses then went on to attempt to get the local publicans to lynch me while with a new born child my wife and 2 other children aged 4 and 7
Avoid this pub

Dear Daniel,
I would agree the bartender said 'what?'to you but she didn't mean it in a rude way, hence the apology on her behalf.
I am sorry you felt that way. We had a very busy afternoon, the bar was two people deep and people could not hear you saying ''excuse me''.
I am afraid however you were not calm at all in your response to her, which another member of staff pointed out to you. You said to her and I quote ''You could be called Stephanie for all I care''. She was at the coffee machine waiting her turn to make the cappuccino that you ordered, not to flirt or have fun. Once she was finished she would have resolved the issue with the flat beer, as we do when a similar situation occurs. As it seems you could not wait and wanted to get her attention before she finished the order. The order was finished in the end, you took the drinks and didn't pay for them.
No one tried to lynch you and to suggest that its wrong. What she tried to do is ask for help from the management in order to take the payment for the drinks you did not pay, which in the end in order to avoid any conflict, we let you have them for free.
We are always open for discussion and ready to solve problems. However we will not tolerate people that shout or are abusive to members of the team. I will leave the viewers to judge by themselves after reading both sides of the story to who was right or wrong and whether to avoid the pub.
Yours sincerely,
Georgios

We visited the pub for a birthday celebration and overall had a lovely time. The servers were all really good and drinks came quickly. My niggle was with some aspects of the food, which I would normally not mention, but this pub charges a premium price for food, so it needs to match that.
1) starters on the whole were ok, but expensive for the size and quality. For example, Tempura spring onions was no more than 5//6 chopped up pieces of 2/3 spring onions? That’s not worthy of charging nearly £6.
2) most of us had roast dinners and the meat and roasties were really good…BUT…the roasted veg was rock hard?! A roasted carrot or parsnip should not be crunchy to the point of inedible.
3) fish and chips - please take the skin off the haddock before it’s battered, as we ordered this for the children and a few wouldn’t eat it because of that.
4) plates - please don’t use those long narrow plates for serving food on as those with burgers had their food constantly falling off as the plates aren’t big enough. The same with a few of the puddings as the plates are not practical!
5) we were given sauces but no salt and pepper. I didn’t realise until the waitress had gone and didn’t see her again to ask so had to eat rather than my food go cold. Can it just be on the tables in sachets?
I want to say that none of these comments are major complaints and as I said at the start, it was a lovely meal overall. These are just a few things that stopped me giving the pub 5 stars which are easily remedied if the pub is looking for some constructive feedback😊

Dont recognise this pub from some of the other reviews. Have been here several times over the years as a born and bred local and its really improved. We went on a rugby day (Quins game not International) so very busy but not packed. Didnt have to wait long at all to be served, bar staff charming. We wanted to order some chicken wings but main menu wasnt on due to rugby day - staff member mentioned to manager and she got them made for us anyway. That is great customer service. And they were delicious. Staff also told us where the doggy treats were for our goldens and got a water bowl. Super outside covered area with heaters great for those with dogs or like an occasional ciggie but plenty of non smoking areas too. Food and bowl brough to us by David who was lovely as were all the staff.
A super pub and local, cant fault it. Will be back v soon!

Best pub in Twickenham!
The Prince Blucher is fabulous. It has a lovely cosy feel inside and a fabulous garden outside. The food and menu is plentiful and we’ve had many a fantastic time with friends and family over the years. We had a bit of a hiccup on a visit a couple of months ago but Georgios and his team absolutely restored faith on a family celebration there on Saturday.
Fabulous team, setting and fortunate to call it our local. Keep up the great work 💛 , Susie x

It was lovely to celebrate the end of term in a relaxed setting.
The staff made it such a successful night with their attention and ability to adapt to last minute alterations.
The whole process from my first enquiry to book the event, to the end of the night was really smooth and hassle free.
The pizzas and salad were really tasty and the chips were a great hit! So many people mentioned how great the chips were, I have lost count!

We love coming here and it’s nice vibes and friendly staff however this time we ordered a burger and it was the size of a kids portion. A burger at a pub should be decent especially if it is a small menu anyway. Come on Blucher you can do better. It’s not hard to get a burger right .

Had a simple yes or no question and was met by a really rude and sarcastic female member of staff. The food is average at best.

Good Afternoon, sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your experience with us. If this review is from the day it was left, this was the day of an England match during the Euros 2024. Staff can often be under a lot of pressure on such days and we will endeavour to do better!
