I recently visited the Angler pub and ordered the burger. Table tennis; great for the kids abs heated booths outside. The chips were fantastic, crispy and great with the sauces. On the other hand, the burger was horrible. The patty was small and thin, about the same size as a digestive biscuit. And the bun was dry, floury and stuck to the inside of your mouth. I was extremely disappointed when I found out that the pub only provide table service up to table 323. And we were table 324!! However, the agreed to make an exception “ just this once”. The portion sizes were minuscule, fit for a two-year-old. Overall, I would come here again, only for the entertainment, NOT for the food. Too expensive and not worth it!!

We had come down to London for the weekend and we’re staying at the Lensbury hotel and had booked The Anglers for an evening meal as it’s only a few minutes walk away. We sat in a partially covered balcony area which was lovely. As it had been my birthday a few days earlier I was kindly offered a free cocktail which was a nice touch. We ordered some nibbles to start which came promptly. It was sunny and a Friday night so the pub was absolutely packed. We did have to wait for our food but it was fine as we were in no rush. I ordered the burger and my wife ordered the chicken salad which were both ok. The friendliness and service from our waitress was excellent and really helped enjoy our evening,

We spotted this pub out walking during lockdown and said we would try it out when we could. The online booking system was being a bit temperamental but Hannah was great on the phone and our booking for 3 was sorted very easily for a Thursday lunchtime. We were impressed with the layout. Tables are spaced well apart and there are different settings - on an outside table under a big umbrella, in a wooden booth for 4 or 6, a couple of covered areas and even the terrace of the pub itself with the windows open for families with someone who just can’t cope well with the cold. This is in stark contrast to pubs up the towpath who are just squeezing as many as possible as they can under a nasty plastic marquee. Well done to The Anglers! Service was good too (thanks to the girl with the blue hair and long false eyelashes) . There were QR codes for remote ordering but we were told it was full table service and someone would be with us soon, and they were. The menu is more limited than usual at the moment but there was enough to choose from and burgers went down very well indeed. My steak and chips was overpriced but I had expected that. It was my choice and it was fine. I can choose something else next time. The desserts are also quite pricey and wouldn’t win any prizes for presentation but they were interesting and we enjoyed them. Well done Fullers and the whole team for the care taken to make this work safely and so well - track & trace on entry, sanitiser as you come back from the toilets to the table, wrapped cutlery and service teams making a big effort to be efficient but not get in your face. We will be back.

What a waste of money! If you think "all the trimmings" means a festive feast, think again! At Fuller's, "all the trimmings" means turkey - which was nice but everything else was an absolute disaster. Raw roast potatoes, bullet-hard sprouts, a single burned roasted carrot, and parsnips. No other vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, or cauliflower cheese—worse than a basic Sunday roast. And all this for £125 per person! At that price, you would expect far better than substandard school dinners. When we raised our concerns, they had the audacity to "make it right" by removing the service charge—as if they'd done nothing wrong! Felt totally mugged off, to be fair, and it ruined a great family get-together. Save your money and avoid this place if you’re looking for decent food; the reviews don't lie!

We celebrated a 40th birthday in the private upstairs room, with around 50 guests. The space was beautiful and we were given plenty of time beforehand to decorate with our own flowers etc. Food was delicious and commented on by all the guests. We were looked after so well by Jen and Isaac, they manned the private bar and ensured the pre-ordered prosecco was free flowing. Jade was super helpful in the lead up to the event, answering all queries and making sure we’d thought of everything. It really was a perfect venue for a fabulous celebration, huge thanks to The Anglers and their brilliant team xxx

We moved to Teddington recently and one of our discoveries has been our local pub The Anglers. They make you feel so welcome, lots of lounges and cosy seating inside …….and surprise surprise….. the menu is really quite adventurous with lots of tapas type bar snacks as well as an extensive main menu……plus touring theatre shows all through the summer in their gardens. For my wife and I tThe Anglers is a welcoming new found treat. Ronald and Isobel Neil

A large group of us went to the Anglers on a Saturday night and were incredibly disappointed. Food and drinks were overpriced and slow to be served but the most disappointing part of the whole evening was the attitude of the staff, in particular the manager who seemed to stalk around the bar, restaurant and outdoor area with a massive chip on his shoulders. Very rude and arrogant with his responses and spoke to us as if we were lucky to have a few seconds of his time. I wouldn't recommend this place, there are lots and lots of lovely pubs and restaurants in Teddington worth visiting instead.

I really didn't enjoy the food. We had the pea hummus with flatbread and the nachos for sharing. They were both terrible. The pea hummus and flatbread was horrible. Basically mushy peas blitzed with some chilli oil and pine nuts and a flatbread. It was just tasteless. The flatbread wasn't fresh. For ÂŁ8 the portion was small. The sharing nachos were horrible, it tasted as though all the ingredients had come out of a jar. All really processed and not good! ÂŁ14 for the privilege too. The presentation was awful, all served in disposable containers with no napkins. It all felt cheap (even though it wasn't for what you got!) and as though they were mugging you off.

Our hungry 8yr old had to watch 6 adults order, wait and finish both starters and mains, for 40 mins before his simple pizza arrived. The pizza people told me to sit down and wait twice as it would be "5minutes". The third time I asked, I watched them make the pizza from scratch in front of me, so they hadn't even started 35 minutes after the order was placed. The adults meals were also late and partly missing. A total waste of precious family time and at ÂŁ23 for basic reheated pub food we are feeling pretty ripped off.

We previously visited at Easter, meeting up with family, fantastic place, gorgeous garden and setting. We ate in the Marquee, food was delicious. So I was so excited to be returning, this time with friends and The Anglers is the place we wanted to book. Inside was fully booked but we knew we could eat outside in the Marquee, so booked the outside option and even though it was freezing, we knew there were heaters in the marquee. On arrival, we were led to our table, not in the marquee but actual garden. The host said I’d booked outside, further more, he switched the heater on in front of us but it was too late, the padded seats had sheets of ice on them, we couldn’t sit down. I can accept I booked outside and not the marquee, however, no one contacted me to check knowing the booking was for December, why wouldn’t you have the table ready for us, made sure the heater was on way beforehand, made sure the seating was thawed and dry and had blankets, like inside the marquee. We ate back at our hotel. This isn’t a reflection on the food or place, just more on the lack of customer service.

Stopped by this beautiful pub/restaurant for a meal after a nice walk by Richmond and Teddington. First we were greeted by a very RUDE Manager! Whilst having food, the same Manager was in a rush to clear our plates when I told him twice (not once, but twice!) that I'm still eating. No apology, just pure rudeness! Wonder how he is a Manager to begin with. To be fair, the 2 wait ladies were friendly and apologetic. Ohhh and the food here are wayyyyyy OVERPRICED! Not worth paying as nothing great with the food. We wouldn't mind paying for an overpriced "chef's special" if there's really something special to it.

Average and overpriced food. May be a good place for drinks in summer as it has great outdoor space but found it to be overpriced for what it is. Portion sizes of kids meals are frankly shocking for the price. Spend in excess of ÂŁ100 for 2 main meals, a couple of packets of crisps, some kids juices and 2 kids meals.

We were a large group, and sat outside on a beautiful sunny day. Service was excellent from all of the staff we encountered - friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The food was all fab - cooked well and slightly interesting takes on classic pub dishes. The location is stunning, so it is very busy. But this is what makes it such a great atmosphere - not sure why people have complained about this in some of the other reviews. Highly recommended!

A disappointing lunch. Tempura prawns were cooked really well and deliciously tender,in a light crispy batter. Served with wasibi mayonnaise. No wasabi, just plain mayo. The burrata was lovely, but no mention on the menu of the large amount of chilli jam, all over the dish. The pea, broad bean, asparagus, spelt, hazelnut, and pickled apple was very bland. Perhaps because there was no asparagus or hazelnuts in in at all and the apple wasn't pickled, just raw. No mention of the samphire in it, in the menu. No real dressing, just oil. Strangely, this cold salade was served in a hot bowl. The strawberry tart was unset in the middle, so when I broke into it the middle ran out all over the plate. When the tart arrived on the table, the spoon handle was laying in sticky, strawberry sauce, so had to be cleaned before use. Staff were friendly, but untrained. When a waiter, delivered the food he asked if he could get us anything else. I asked for a glass of wine, he said he would send someone else over to take our drink order. Reappeared 5 minutes later,to say there's no bar service in the garden. Service was slow, especially so as the only thing we ordered that needed cooking were the prawns. Very expensive, even taking into consideration London prices and the Riverside location. Cheapest starter is a bowl of soup at ÂŁ7. I wouldn't mind paying, if what it says on the menu, is what is delivered to the table and it's well cooked or prepared. Wouldn't bother to go again.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to review, although it makes for disappointing reading. The experience you had is nowhere close to the standard we aim for. When you dined the menu was in its first week and we have since reviewed - and removed - some of the dishes you mention - as well as some rewording - and undertaken some staff training. We are really disappointed that this has put you off visiting again. Kind regards, Ben

Went for dinner with my wife and very impressed with decor and ambiance, it was all down hill from there. Waited a long time at the bar for drinks and given a pint that hadn’t been pulled correctly with the head still overflowing. Ordered olives and focaccia with dips to start and I ordered a burger and my wife the plant burger. Waited 30minutes for starters and where told they had been left on a different table by mistake and that our main meals where also ready. Given the choice to take both at the same time or leave our Burgers sitting in the kitchen for a few minutes, not great options. We asked to send the starters back and were left the olives for free as an apology which was nice. The burgers were a big disappointment with mine being bland at best and my wife’s plant burger being what I can only describe as a tasteless lump of gluppy stuff. Not ones to make a fuss my wife did mention the uneaten burger was a disappointment but just got a “sorry about that” and conversation closed. It’s a nice placed for a drink being on the river but I’d avoid the food going on our experience.
