Having booked the signature experience for my partner and I for my 40th Birthday I was looking forward to dining at a 3 star mitchlen restaurant. Having arrived at the inn we checked in and was shown to our room. The room was very well presented and clean although I later found out the air con unit did not work... More

We have visited Le Gavroche a couple of times and was very impressed. Our daughters and their partners surprised us with the menu exceptional for our 30th wedding anniversary knowing how much we admire this creative and talented family. We were a little nervous after reading a few bad reviews, which to our experience were totally uncalled for. Our evening was... More

My second trip here - I ate lobster to start, followed by duck and souffle to finish. Whilst all perfectly tasty, it was definitely not worth the price. Particularly disappointing were the sides that came with the meal - standard portions of boiled vegetables. I've had similar / better quality food for considerably less at other top London restaurants. The... More

Once, or if I am lucky, twice a year we dine at the Waterside Inn. We went yesterday on a glorious warm day. The setting is picturesque on The Thames, the warm, welcoming service impeccable and food delicious. It is the whole package. Go at lunchtime to enjoy the view and take the boat out for a potter. Make sure... More

This is my third lifetime michelin three star experience. The venue location is stunning and on a hot summers day perfection. Looking out over the Thames and watching the boats and birds Starter was a butternut squash soup with duck leg and other ingredients. It was beautifully flavoured and absolutely gorgeous. Main was a supreme of chicken with vegetables in... More

This was a special birthday treat for me, arranged by my wife for just the two of us,therefore I did not see the prices on the menu but I've a pretty good idea! Starters were average - mine was a smoked haddock soufflé which had a small piece of fish at the bottom but overawed by the poached egg in... More

Often returning to a restaurant that delivered on every level can be disappointing - however, this was not the case with here. Aperitifs by the river, followed by a divine lunch from 'Le Menu Exceptionnel'. The food was superb and for me the veloute once again stole the show. The service was excellent and attentive without being intrusive. A meal... More

Great setting, superb service, average food. Sorry Waterside Inn but Le Manoir beats you hands down on food. You win on service and setting. Given the choice I'd return to Le Manoir but would not return to The Waterside Inn.

My partner and I visited for dinner and stayed overnight in one of their suites (Mallard). The accommodation was a 2 minute walk away from the restaurant, right on the river and was wonderful. We enjoyed drinks on the decking watching the boats go by before walking over for dinner. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing, which was... More

We went for a lunch, our table was by the window, we enjoy our aperitifs outside. We opted for the tasting menu, all was simply prepared to perfection Great old school atmosphere which makes the charm of this British institution.
