Luckily I found an amazing pub near our Padel club in Binfield and then this pub is already my favourite!
For me, I love the cosy atmosphere, the fire burning on these cold days and the great food.
With a full roast, hearty burgers and some tasty Indian dishes, the menu is extensive.
What really makes this place unique is the awesome staff! Big shout out to Morgan, Scarlett, Erin and Gabriel --you are all superstars. Always friendly, accommodating and welcoming with big smiles!
We love it so much, that it has already become our local for lunch after Padel sessions. We have even taken family members here and have recommended this place to others — many wonderful meals have been here. Definitely recommend!

I booked lunch at The Victoria Arms for a group of 12. As this was the first time any of us had been here, I was unsure of the service we would get, or quality of food. However, from the moment we arrived, the lovely, young staff were so polite and friendly. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the room we had lunch in was quite quirky with beer bottles on shelves amidst the wooden rafters.
When the food arrived, it was hot and delicious - and plenty of it. Real value for money.
I can highly recommend The Victoria Arms.

What a great found on the way home. We passed buy and felt thirsty and hungry so decided to stop buy. Did't expected a lot from village pub, but we received absolutely brilliant service and surprisingly great food. Decent good quality beer choice and and really enjoyable and calm atmosphere

Once a great local popular, friendly, and welcoming to all.
NOW:
1. "management" not interested in the regulars, just want to bring in new customers, even though most won't return or will only visit very occasionally
2. Sunday night Quiz, moved from Weekly at 8 p.m. to alternate weeks at 7. Not surprising that the numbers are down!
3. Nonstop "Atmosphere TV", shows the same old loops repeatedly, and advertises weekly Sunday quiz at 8 p.m. (See above)
4 Seating arranged in such a way that it's almost impossible to get a table for four, unless you want to sit around a table placed in such a way that only 3 sides can be used. Other popular areas, popular with the regulars that is, completely rearranged to ensure those very same regulars can no longer sit where they want.
5 Sunday lunch - Roast served as a Trio of meats, whether you want the three or not. No swapping allowed; you get the three meats but can opt to have just two, however there's no extra if you do. AND "Best of All" the meats are served to share. That's right, one large plate with food on for you to fight over.
6 Loyal staff treated with contempt, even more so than the regulars are. Many have left and some who were previously not up to standard have rejoined and are as "good as ever".
7 On the night we visited 2/3 of the bar was closed for a private function from 6.30. Regulars were squeezed into a small rea and the Marquee, which was to be used for such events, remained unused. We left.
The Binfield Club and The Stag and Hounds must be laughing their heads off. The soon to reopen Jack O'Newbury can hardly fail when their only competition is a pub that doesn't want regulars.
Most pubs close because of poor trading conditions, The Vic is trying to buck the trend and close when things are buoyant, bur the management hopelessly out of touch.

The new landlords could run a masterclass titled, "How to ruin a successful community pub in no time at all"
This place used to be a buzzing community pub full of friendly locals who would always make newcomers or one off visitors feel welcome. In fact this is part of the reason we moved to Binfield as a friendly village pub was part of the decision making process.
Since the new landlords have taken over they have systematically ruined the atmosphere by removing bar stools at the bar, placing tables right next to the bar and generally driven any of the regular locals away. This has resulted in a quiet pub that has lost its soul. I'm not sure if this has been a conscious decision to change the clientele, but it seems like they have done this deliberatly.
Saturday and Sunday afternoons were always busy, and you'd have been lucky to get a table however the complete opposite happens now, you could have your pick of any tables in the pub because its empty.
I understand that Sky sports for pubs is expensive, but I feel it was a silly decision to remove this, as the number of people in the pub watching sport would surely have covered some or all of the cost and more. Now they just have some random 'atmosphere' tv with no real benefit at all.
The Binfield Club and Stag & Hounds must be rubbing their hands in glee as the regulars have started to move on to them. With the Jack O'Newbury re-opening soon, I fear the Vic will be another of the statistics you read about with pubs closing at an alarming rate in the UK.
These guys really need to know their audience and understand what makes a pub a pub. Not really sure what their strategy is, but it's definitely not working.

First time visitors for a birthday meal straight from work. Was very impressed, at first glance the menu looks like your usual pub chain fare but it was darn from average. The food was high quality, perfectly cooked generous portions. Amazing value for money. We couldn't fault it. The pub had a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and a spacious garden that we all (dog included) thoroughly enjoyed. Will definitely be back.

Second visit to this pub. Brought our dog with us after afternoon stroll. Sat at table with dog on lead sat underneath. We were asked to move as the marea is a "no dogs area" due to kitchen being close by. Fair enough.
Returned last weekend to find someone else sitting where we did, with their dog, and not a word said to them. They must be regulars! Then 2 other dogs strolling around, no leads on. One actually went into the kitchen, and strolled by people trying to eat.
Felt this was double standards and unhygienic as well

Hi, I am so sorry you had a negative experience here. We do have a small area by the kitchen that we keep dog free. I will remind the team to keep an eye out for any roaming dogs( they should be on leads ) and about the dog free area. Feel free to come and have a chat next time you are passing. Kind regards, Nat:)

This pub has numerous good points, but........
Staff who don't always know the catering hours. We called in advance and were told, yes, we're serving food and there are free tables. When we arrived 15 mins later "Sorry, the kitchen is closed"!
On a different night, we ordered from the full and interesting menu; after a long wait, "Sorry , we have no chicken". We had to re-order and more than an hour later our food started to arrive. No explanation for the delay!
Sorry guys, a lukewarm review. You've a good place, but you do need to do a bit more for your dedicated public.

Removing the stools at the bar & also the 3 stooges / regulars that took over the entire length of the main bar area has made it a much nicer place to visit. Refreshing change to not have to squeeze by to order a drink. Long overdue and well done to the new landlord.
2 of them appear to have left recent reviews, try the pub again - so much better without the them!

Myself and two colleagues return to the Vic every year when our work takes us close by. We even search hotels based on a getting a few cosy nights at what we all very fondly rate as a "great little boozer". Last year we were late arriving and phoned to check we'd beat the kitchen deadline. The staff went out of their way to make sure we were fed before bedtime. We'll be back. A particular favourite element is the cute sunken bar in the middle of the pub. Terrific.

Went here with friends for a NYE celebration 2019 in the Marquee
First you need to change your photo of the Marquee as it's very misleading. On your site it shows stylish tables and chairs with cushions on the seats
The reality was a mish mash of old tables and chairs that looked like they were from a jumble sale. Very uncomfortable
The Marquee was cold and damp with the wind blowing through the gaps of the side screens..although there was some heating the full amount of heaters could not be switched on because we were told they kept blowing the electrics..
On the plus side the staff were very pleasant and the hot food supplied was very acceptable

Thank you for your review. So sorry you felt the venue was disappointing. Yes our marquee has been updated since the photographs on the website. The furniture we have out there are indoor tables and chairs instead of the heavy, iron garden furniture that we had previously. We do invite all parties to come and view the marquee before hiring it out free of charge. Anne who organised the party did view the venue a couple of times and was happy with it. We will take your feedback on board and look into improving the pub as best we can. Kind regards

I visited today for the first time under new management. It was really nice. Great food, nice atmosphere and warm welcome.
I ordered coffee after my meal and it was served in a proper teacup and saucer! Lovely touch.

Visited on the first day the pub was open after being closed for refurbishment. I would have questioned the need for a refurbishment, but the results are impressive.
The staff team are warm, welcoming and efficient.
Now to important things, does the pub provide excellent ESB and properly fried eggs? Yes and yes .,

Great Sunday roast. We lowed that sharing kind of thing and all of us found something to eat. And pizza - finally good pizzas at pub. My partner loved wine choice but my pint was excellent thanks.
