I hadn't visited for a few years having had a bad experience albeit 10+years ago but had been told a few weeks ago that the place had changed hands since and to give it a try. The overwhelming smell of chip fat hits you as you walk in which had me as a 50/50 as to stay or not. All... More

We booked a table for 2 and arrived on time to a half empty pub We were given a table in a corner which was by the door and very little room to get your legs in even though the pub had plenty of other tables unoccupied The lady took the order and came back to explain what went with... More

This was the second visit here. First time was mid week lunch and we had a sandwich and chips, great huge portion and perfect chips. The second visit was on a Sunday lunch time. Firstly we were used from a table, because (despite not have a reserved sign) it was reserved for a local couple who come here every Sunday... More

Ended up here at the end of a mystery treasure hunt and can def say we were not disappointed. Staff were very friendly and we didn't have long to wait for our food. It had been ordered in advance though by the hunt organiser. Everything is cooked from fresh. No microwave warm ups here. Only thing would recommend is booking... More

Looks lovely from the outside and has amazing views. Good fish and chips deal on Fridays. Beer good (so I'm told by my husband) but grumpy unsmiling landlord and very very shabby decor. Most of the seats have barely any fabric on and part of the wall seems to be peeling off!

Very pleasant first visit, lovely atmosphere and the food was quite nice (I had the farmhouse pie!) Only thing that prevented top marks was the food not being brought out for everyone roughly around the same time. It was spaced out over a period of 15/20 minutes so you were either left with lukewarm dinner waiting for the others or... More

Visited on a Friday teatime with the extended family (6) to make up for a poor meal out somewhere else the previous week. Had heard good things about The Cherry Tree but hadn't been for a good few years. The staff quickly put tables together to seat us all & we looked through the menu; so much choice we struggled... Don't be put off by appearance this is a gem of a place, warm friendly and welcoming. The metals are reasonably priced and very tasty. I went with three others the bill came to less than £40 including a drink. I would reccomend the chicken and ham pie although my friend had the fish pie and she would reccomend that.... More
