About
Silks On The Downs is best described as a friendly & homely ' Gastro Pub '. Our menus change regularly and we source locally from the fantastic produce available around us. We are located in Ogbourne St Andrew, one mile outside the beautiful market town of Marlborough. Adorning our walls are framed silks of leading racehorse owners as worn by the jockeys, reflecting Wiltshire's rich racing heritage, as well as giving the pub its name. We are open daily for lunch and dinner (closed on a Sunday evening).

We invited friends to join us for Sunday Lunch and were very disappointed by the poor standard of the food and slow service. Was the chef on holiday? The beef croquettes were like something my Grandmother talked about as a wartime standby. Everything was in...More

The staff were very pleasant. More than content overall with the parties food. My creme brûlée was superb but let down a little with my choice of fish and chips. Well worth a visit if in the area.

This place is back to its former glory. The food was perfect - a delicious North African style lamb dish and delicious vegetarian falafel, the best ever taste. Deserts were also sublime. Service was great, as was the ambience and decor. Will be back soon.

We were thrilled to be included in this special evening at the Silks on the Downs, one of our favourite restaurants in Wiltshire. We enjoy the warm, relaxed ambience there and the excellent service that has catered also for some of our special family events....More

Good points: Friendly waiting staff; well designed interior. Bad Points: 1) Access is off a busy, quick and dangerous road but the signage is poor, the property is poorly lit and access into the car park is cramped; 2) I ordered King Scallops starter. The...More

Hi There are a couple of tables on the patio where they serve food. The garden area is through the car park where they have a few tables but they tend to be for drinks. If you want food outside, make sure you ask when you... More
