Our first visit to the Potting Shed and on a cold winter's lunchtime we enjoyed a very pleasant luncheon for four in this warm and inviting pub. Staff were both friendly and knowledgeable about the menu which had some enticing options - we had the roasted haunch of venison which was fabulous with very tastily prepared spinach and broccoli. while... We were staying at a hotel down the rd and this pub was within walking distance. Managed to book a table and wandered down. Staff were very attentive and the food was superb. A real gem

We haven't been to the Potting Shed for some time but so glad we have done so now. The team is young, friendly and warm and the menu superb. We enjoyed a mix of starters and mains with the cod and fallow deer being the real stars. We will be back without doubt

We went here for a treat, and by all appearances we were expecting more. It started when we asked about a Children's menu (there wasn't one which is fine, no issue there), but what was really amazing was the comment from the server about not wanting to ask the Chef for a smaller portion as he wouldn't be happy. Ok,... More

This a convenient meeting place for me and my friend to meet as it is approximately halfway between our homes. We are always pleased to be there and enjoy the ambiance and excellent food and service. The decor is shabby chic but very welcoming and the choices on the menu make it extremely difficult to know what to choose, in... More

Went for Sunday lunch and a revisit to The Potting Shed. Pub was buzzy and warm, maintaining a really welcoming atmosphere. Well greeted at the bar, drinks arrived quickly and the lunch menu looked inviting. Roast lamb with the usual trimmings was of good quality but low quantity and the meat lukewarm. Not entirely offputting but when charging relatively high-end... More

Try the smoked trout with celeriac slaw and apple puree as a starter it was scrummy yumminess. Stay away from the steaks (rib eye and rump) I had the rump and couldn't cut it, my husband had the ribeye and his was the same. The white chocolate rice pudding with raspberries was to die for mmmm

Went in for some classic pub grub and was chuffed with the burger I was served. To top it off I received some fantastic service from the staff, in particular Callum who was extremely friendly and went the extra mile.

I have visited The Potting Shed twice before and have always raved about it. Yesterday I took my family on their first visit. The staff began by being pleasant enough but the service slowed as the meal progressed. Requesting a Merlot we were told they had run out but no alternative was suggested. The surroundings are pleasant with no complaints... More
