Visited to celebrate 2 special birthdays. Cost for afternoon tea was £29.50 per person which was a little higher than other places but it was a special occasion. The food was very pleasant and the teas were lovely, however the sting in the tail was when it came to payment as they had added 12.5% service charge which increased price... More

Dear LJB_Chipp, Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you were upset about the service charge, it is indeed advertised on the menu and makes a point of indicating that the service charge is indeed completely discretionary. The service charge goes only towards recognising the staff for their efforts and should you feel that you do not wish to... More

We booked this for our wedding anniversary ( using a voucher we had bid for at a charity charity auction) as we had both eaten and stayed here a few times before. Our room was superb - and had a stunning view over the beautiful grounds. We had the tasting menu and wine pairings which was up there with the... More

Stayed in the hotel and therefore booked dinner, excellent! Food was delicious, service amazing and wine was a real treat at £70 a bottle (it was a special occasion) cheaper wine available by the way! Can't fault it, highly recommend and would definitely visit again....

You'll love everything about this place and, although it's quite a lot of money, it's worth every penny. Excellence is priceless and this is excellence and then some!

I ate at Bybrook twice in late September, on consecutive nights. The first night started with a chicken liver parfait and fig chutney, followed by foie gras and lamb; the second night was scallops with celeriac puree, followed by halibut with cockles and mussels. Both nights the helpful sommelier found good wines by the glass; both nights the "dessert" was... More

Stayed at hotel for a birthday treat weekend and had the seven course tasting menu with paired wines as part of it. Got off to rocky start by serving me something that I'd indicated I was allergic to but then the imaginative food and sometimes surprising wine pairings made up for it. Only downside, the men in our party were... More

Recently visited for a business dinner with some work colleagues Food as expected was superb in both presentation and taste. Hotel ground and surroundings exceptionally beautiful. Only comment was I felt a little uncomfortable at times during the meal, maybe because im a Rhondda valley boy at heart and don't enjoy all the fuss and pomp that Michelin star restaurants... More

Dined here as part of a special offer while staying at the Castle Inn and had a brilliant meal. We had a 3 course meal from the a la carte selections but once you added in the Canapés, Amuse Bouche, Pre-dessert and Petit Fours it ends up being a 7 course meal. Each course was delicate with a depth of... More

The restaurant was excellent and lived up to its Michelin Star. The food was exquisite. I had scallops to start both nights and would have like to see more meat options for starters. My husband had the crab first night and scallops the second. I had beef and venison and my husband had venison and lamb. All were wonderful. The... More
