We booked a special deal through Travelzoo, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. After visiting Castle Combe and doing the walk from the village, we drove back to have lunch. Really well presented and tasty, with a good selection on the menu, this was a memorable meal. The pub has been refurbished, but retained its traditional style, which is airy and... More

Stayed at this little gem of a Wiltshire pub last night and have got to say we loved it! Fab accommodation with French shabby chic furnishing and a huge wet room. For a caffeine addict like me the inclusion of the Bosch coffee machine was a very welcome touch. We had our own little patio with a table and chairs... More

Managed to secure an offer for dinner / lunch so thought we'd give it a try for lunch and as it was my birthday. I've always had a slight suspicion of restaurants promoting themselves through web offers or vouchers but that view was completely dispelled today. Friendly greeting by a lovely young lady and then very pleasant ongoing service by... More

A regular food stop for us some 15 years ago. Moved away and were looking forward to going back for the first time in many years. Pub still has a lot of character. Food still very good but Service felt impersonal. Staff seemed that they were not willing to interact, some were scruffily dressed and as a result the service... More

Had drinks with friends in the garden. Manager came and chatted with us for a short while. Very friendly lady. Band was great. Really great atmosphere, would definitely visit again.

We visited the Old House at Home on 28th June from recommendations of a lovely country pub with amazing food. We couldn't fault the food and had a great seat in the bay window however the dark haired member of staff working couldn't crack a smile if she tried. it was really disappointing that she was letting down such a... Happened to passing by and haven't visited here for about ten years. Used to have a great reputation and we couldn't always get a table so I thought I would take my son for an early supper. Sadly it was very different. The two ladies serving and a guy working in and out of the kitchen just didn't seem interested... More

The rooms here are in a new build block next to a very old, lovely pub. The rooms are modern and comfortable. Not massive, but adequate for a short stay. Comfy, but not huge double bed. Nice walk-in shower. Fancy coffee machine (no kettle, I needed to walk to reception to get an adjustment that let it do hot water... More

Visited for lunch on Travelzoo voucher. No problem with a wheelchair as sat on top level. Had to wait for a while as nobody at bar, had to get chef to seek out not particularly friendly person for us to make an order. We did not feel particularly welcomed. Good value with the voucher and our dishes were very well... More
