We go for the Sunday Carvery which is fine - evening meals on weekdays are also good - freshly cooked and served piping hot. Puds are usually really good. They also do Tapas which is worth a try. The Star deserves to be better known and patronised than it is, always a pleasant atmosphere and good service . They are doing... More

Have eaten here numerous times. The food is delicious and portions are generous with the bonus of being served with a smile

The Sunday carvery dinner is a little know gem. It beats any of the chain pubs hands down, it's probably better value when it comes to price as well. If you don't fancy this there is a set menu as well. They have 2 real ales, draft cider as well as Moretti lager. Don't forget to book though, they don't... More

Today (2nd Jan) we did the Luddite trail part 1 walk starting at the star inn robertown. Our group was 50 strong and the star inn was so accommodating to us. A big thank you to the staff. They even opened up early so we could use the toilets. A nice muddy 6 mile walk finished with a nice drink... More

My husband and I have taken our two young children here to eat several times and have started introducing family and friends too! Fabulous home cooked food at reasonable prices. I don't understand why it's not constantly packed out!

The Star Inn was warm and welcoming. The staff were very friendly and showed us to our table with no waiting. Drinks were brought almost straight away. The meals were delicious, hot and very well presented. Would definitely dine there again if in the area.

This is a lovely pub and the food was very good indeed. It took a little while to be served but it was well worth the wait. I'd certainly eat here again

The Star does a good sunday carvery - plus other options if that does not take your fancy. Good value and freshly prepared ( this is not a chain pub/ restaurant) they offer good puds too and have one, two and three course pricing options. Nice log burning stove too if you just want a quiet drink. Weekday meals are... More
