Me and my sister went Thursday teatime. we had gammon it looked like it was cooked on a dirty griddle, the gammon was also very undercooked. Staff didn't look impressed when we sent them back. Also the seating area was dirty with stains all over. Won't be going again

Having lived in Brighouse for 9 years I had always avoided the Calder, more to the reputation of the previous establishment there. Went about 6 months ago, after a neighbour recommended it, and have been a fair few times since. Food is not particularly outstanding or adventurous - but it's very good value and good quality. Plenty of offers and... More

Visited on a Friday evening and found the 2-for-1 cocktails offer very good value. We didn't eat here but the food we saw did look nice. The pub was full with characters and had a party atmosphere with Dancefloor music after 930

Obviously very busy on this weekend but managed to get seated. Food similar menu to JDW nearby and at similar prices. Surroundings pleasant. Our party (6 + 2) were all happy with their orders.

A regular at the calder for a few drinks and some food, getting really p...ed off with kids running around playing cowboys and Indians, some parents need to take their kids to the park to blow off steam instead of getting tanked up whilst their offspring spoil it for others. I know the management are going to bleat on at... More

Staff very helpful and food service was quick and typical pub grub. It was hot and tasty and good value and sometimes that's all you need. I'll go there again when it's not a special night out or just for a drink as it has a good atmosphere.
