The food is okay. Nothing special and a little pricey. The service is excellent. Very friendly staff.

The only reason I write this review is because the lovely waiter we had apparently realized we were unhappy with our food (beef and onion) and must have told his manager. (Nice gesture) however after he came over to see what was wrong he made zero changes on the bill. Had he not come over in the first place fine,... More

We went for my friends 60th birthday and we're not disappointed. Started with the happy hour specials, the plantain appie was delicious and ordered two of them, along with all the others, carpaccio was good, veggie roll was good. There was 5 of us and we actually came for the lobster but because of the food at happy hour we... More

El Timon is an old SJDS locale. My favorite place to go for their octopus ceviche and their ice cold Toña beer!

This place has very good seafood and great service. It might seem a little pricey for where you are, but worth every penny. In the States the meal would be much more! Lobster order for dinner was 4 tails.... keep the portion sizes in mind when ordering! Highly recommend.

I went to El Timon for diner but ended up taking just a beer. The prices were above my budget however, I discovered a great band . The band plays several times a week and let me tell you, they play different styles, the singer is right on key and all the musicians are tight. If you have the time... More

I'm not sure if there was a cruise ship nearby, but when we walked in, there were a bunch of silver-haired people eating, dancing and just having fun. The band was playing some old but familiar music. The food...most everyone ordered some seafood. I ordered a dish of Creole shrimp of some sort.... OMG, I must've eaten more than 20... More

El Timon never fails to give excellent food with smart and helpful service. Thursday nights have the bonus of the Nicaraguan culture show but live good music on other night is also recommended. Any visit to SJDS Should include a dinner here.

Top Location, Great service and amazing food! Directly at the beachfront, I went there almost every day either for a sundowner watching the beautiful sunset or dinner.

Sooo delicious, I highly recommend the garlic octopus! We had a sunset dinner on the beach, one of the best meals I've ever had.
