This place was recommended by a fb group and it didn't disappoint.
It's a 50's style diner, decorated really cute, with plenty of seating and a very friendly staff.
We started with iced tea and it was home brewed served in mugs- delicious. We ordered the turkey, filling with gravy, mashed potatoes, corn and a side salad, and roast beef with filling, gravy, coleslaw and french fries and a bowl of french onion soup. The soup was hot & delicious as was the entire meal and the portions are huge and the prices are so reasonable.

I frequent the Soda Jerk quite often because it has good food at a reasonable price. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and have a wide selection of foods. The restaurant is popular with locals. It has a neat 60s/70s theme since it looks like a diner. Each booth has is own juke box selector for records. I had a philly cheese steak with sauce and fries. It was very good. The restaurant also has a covered outside area in the rear of the restaurant with a good view. Our waitress Tammy did a very good job and was friendly and helpful.

April 30, 2010 was our last visit to this Diner, also after visiting the Hershey Park Gift Shop. This time I got Breaded Veal Parmigiana, salad with Russian Dressing, bread and a sweetened tea, as we drove South to bring my Granddaughter to visit her Great Grandfather in Florida. The diner has a fun atmosphere, even without waiters dancing on the tables like at Johnny Rocket's.

First, what a cute business! Signage is cute. Interior is “old school”. That’s where the positives end. Waitress was stressed, abrupt and couldn’t crack a smile if she had to. The turkey was cheap product, the chicken was dried out and flavorless and chips were stale.

This is a great diner with a vintage vibe that we discovered while visiting a family member at the Hershey Medical Center. It is a short 5-6 minute drive from the hospital and well worth it. Our server, Candido, was excellent! We stopped in late on a Saturday evening and he gave great service with a smile and made us feel very welcomed. He was breath of fresh air after a long day at the hospital and we appreciated his top notch service. Our meals were tasty and hot, the menu has lots of options (including breakfast all day) and is kid friendly, portions are generous, diner and rest rooms were clean, and we were greeted and served promptly upon arrival. We will definitely make this a stop any time we are in the Hershey area again!

I will start off with the food. The food is extremely delicious, with a reasonable price point. The one complaint I had. My buddy spilled his coffee in front of the server. She left, we then cleaned it up with what we had in front of us. A few minutes came by, there was no refill to his coffee or anyone to help clean up. She even came back with all our napkins bunched up with the spilt coffee, took our order, brought our food, all with bunched up coffee-napkins at our table. Minor situation, but worth noting.

Was in the Hershey area. My wife had the chicken croquettes and I had the French Toast. First our waitress was so friendly and checked back often. The Diner was very clean. My wife loved her meal. I agree with another review that the french toast was dry. The bacon and sausage were good. Bummed that the syrup came in pre-packaged containers and it wasn't very good. I would go back and order something else.

Love it! Blast from the past. Such a cute theme and feel.
Breakfast was delicious. I had the Irish Benedict and it didn’t disappoint.
Hubby got two eggs, bacon, homefries and sour dough toast also delicious
Our waitress, Jillian, was very nice and super attentive.
We will be back next time we are in town.

After a fun and fabulous visit to the AACA Auto museum, and looking at stunning classic cars, a 50's style diner seemed the perfect end to a fun day exploring Hershey. Located in a strip mall, we had no problem with parking.
We stopped in for a bit of an early dinner and weren't disappointed. We were seated immediately by a friendly hostess. The atmosphere was fun and quintessential 50's diner.
Our server stopped at the table immediately to take our drink order and gave us some time to explore their extremely large menu.
We started with poutine, yes that scrumptious dish of crispy French fries, smothered in rich dark gravy and covered in cheese curds. This one didn't disappoint. The fries were crispy and not soggy, the gravy thick and rich.
Mr. B went with the classic 50's patty melt, and loved every delicious bite. The bread was toasted perfectly, the cheese melted and a nice beefy flavor. What is better than the sandwich I grew up with as a kid, yes I am dating myself, but it is a classic one never tires of, the Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Again the bread was perfectly toasted and the cheese melted and stringy just like you want your grilled cheese.
Service was quick and done with happy smiling faces. There must have been a local school fundraiser going on as kids and parents were popping in for takeout and talking about the fundraiser. Love to support a restaurant that supports its local kids and schools.
All around, a great end to a fun day.

While visiting Hershey, we went to this diner for Breakfast one morning and it was so good we returned the next two mornings. Service is very good and friendly and the food was tasty and hot. Again, I cannot speak for the Lunch and Dinner entrees, but the breakfast was Great! I especially enjoyed the Soda Jerk Feast which included 2 eggs, has browns, two slices of bacon, one link sausage, two pancakes (or french toast) and toast for $9.99

We visited this location twice on our trip to Hershey. We came here five years ago and had an okay experience but this time was far better. Both times, we had Tammy as a server. She was very friendly, hospitable, and attentive. Tammy provides an excellent experience which makes her an asset to this business.
For breakfast, my daughter and I split a Banana Nutella French Toast. It was amazing! The French Toast was made on a Challah bread just like the old school diners in New York. It was amazing! I also had sausage which was top quality breakfast sausage and the corned beef hash was a traditional recipe, which I love. Diners in NY usually do not have great coffee but this place has great coffee, I had three cups.
The prices are very reasonable and the place is very clean. I recommend The Soda Jerk to anyone looking for a great meal at a great price.

We dine here frequently as we live close. We have ordered several items from the menu that are consistent. They serve breakfast all day. Eggs Benedict is always a good choice. Bacon wrapped meatloaf over real mashed potatoes is one of their dishes we like. Turkey club sandwich excellent. I like their sweet potato fries. They have daily specials and a Senior Menu. One of their specials I like is on Monday. Chicken over waffles, which I substitute the waffles for mashed potatoes. A very filling dish. Our server, Anthony, a favorite of ours, is exceptional. Friendly and attentive. They are usually busy around the dinner hour. Generally good food.

If you like a nostalgic looking diner this is it. Family stopped in for early lunch and we had great service and food. Typical diner menu with variety of choices listed. For our family of 5 everyone could chose from a breakfast item to dinner choices. Great place for children too. We did not have milkshakes or desserts but they looked delicious going to different tables. Would highly recommend for families on vacation to Hershey.

Everyone loved their breakfast. Clean plates all around, from teens to Grandparents. We enjoyed evey bite. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. Thanks, if we ever return to Hershey we'll insist on eating here. We can highly recomend: Eggs Benedict, western Omlet, pancakes with nutella- bananas- strawberries, Belgin Waffle with bananas and strawberries, eggs over easy and home fries, with sides of bacon and sausage!

I found the Soda Jerk Diner on my maps app after our hotel announced a 30+ minute wait for breakfast. I am so happy that we ventured out of the hotel, because the breakfast at the Soda Jerk was amazing.
There was no wait, and we had our food within 10 minutes of walking in the door. The portions are huge, and everything is fantastic. From the sausage gravy to the fluffy French toast to the perfectly crispy bacon, it was all delicious. The menu has a good variety, too; they have five or six different Benedict dishes alone. Best of all, they serve fountain Pepsi products!
The wait staff was lovely and the restaurant has a cute 50's vibe. Definitely give this one a try if in the Hershey area, I hope to be able to visit again someday and try the milkshakes.
