We ate here after recommendations and the reviews on trip advisor. The onion soup was just ok our salads were fresh then the main courses came. My ribs were very very overcooked and to hide it they poured so much bbq sauce on them. My...wife had a specialty burger that she ordered medium rare and it was also very overcooked and tasteless. We were told the next day by a local the chef had quit.More

Most of the first floor is devoted to the bar and dining rooms. The food was very good and slightly upscale.

I can't believe I'm going to write a glowing review of a salad but I had the Thailander salad with grilled chicken and it was absolutely the best salad I've ever had. Service was great. Rachel was on the ball. Place was busy but safe.

We were staying in town for a weekend and had a great time in this charming little town. It's a beautiful area with lots of great scenery and things to do nearby. My wife and I stopped into this bistro inside the Hotel Wayne for...a bite to eat. I had the duck she had the lobster bisque and these was the best dinner either of us had in months! Great service, great atmosphere and all around good time!More

My wife and I were visiting family in the Honesdale area the weekend of February 21st and of course I had to visit my favorite area bar, the one at the Hotel Wayne. Love this place because it’s like an old time saloon and they...hand pour a great drink. None of this “measure exactly 1 1/4 oz stuff” like on Bar Rescue, these are designed to please. So it was a Woodford Manhattan (up please) for me and a glass of Chardonnay for my wife (apologies I forget the name but she enjoyed), perfectly made. We were going to have dinner in Scranton but after ordering said Manhattan decided to be smart and have a leisurely dinner there (and water for me) instead of driving. Great choice! We started with a coconut shrimp that was nice and crispy and also had a cup of the crab bisque apiece. On the road we like to split dinners as we wouldn’t be able to bring leftovers home and the staff was happy to accommodate us. The jovial hotel manager Jim was there and remembered us from a previous visit and recommended their dry aged Delmonico steak so we thought we’d give it a try. Steak was cooked perfectly (medium for us) and was the perfect amount for us after the appetizers. My wife took the salad, me the potato and we split the veggies. Perfect! If I were local I’d have got my own and had a nice lunch the next day. It’s not often we see a real dry aged steak on the menu and the price was fantastic compared to what we’re used to (and that’s for non dry age steak). I’d have liked a Cabernet with that steak to really complete my meal but sadly I was driving and did the responsible thing. It’s not the Ritz Carlton for atmosphere but 5* for combination of quality and value. Plan better than me and bring a designated driver. Cheers!More

We were staying at Noble Lane and decided to come here for dinner. We found an extensive menu, with reasonable prices, and delicious food.

Had dinner here during our trip nice atmosphere great service lobster bisque was a highlight the “Wingaterians” app was amazing according to my wife. Our entrees were a slight letdown her Chicken Napoleon seemed like the chicken came precooked and they heated it up my...Salmon was cooked well but lacked a bit of seasoning both our entrees had spinach which seems to be frozen versus fresh. Prices were slightly expensive for the average food. This place has potential with a better chef or fresher ingredients.More

Our first choice in Honesdale was closed for a private party so we came to Bistro 1202 due to the Tripadvisor rating. Our first reaction was negative. Parts of the entrance area (especially the hotel front desk) look like a flop house. The dining room...is pretty awful, too, BUT with white table cloths! The menu is way too big for everything to be made to order. The wine list is extensive and the prices pretty low and fair. Our server was very helpful. The food was not great, but very good. We had pot stickers followed by a steak and pasta. The salad and rolls were so-so, but the stickers and main courses were surprisingly good, especially for the price. Portions were very generous. My mixed drink was pretty good and only $7.50. That's 1/2 the price I pay at some bars. So all in all it deserves a good rating. It is mainly the atmosphere that bring down the rating (which would be lower but for the price and the good service). Just removing the horrible paintings would improve things.More
