The servers were lively and fun, and the menu was limited but interesting, and the food was good. We had reservations for dinner before a concert. They were respectful of our time frame, and we had no problem being seated and served. The restaurant is...More

After a bike ride, we stopped at the Bost building for some history of the Steel Mills. Then we decided to try the Dorothy 6, which was named after the Dorothy 6 Blast Furnace. Expecting typical bar food, we were pleasantly surprised. It was not...More

Our two couples dropped into Dorothy 6 Blast Furnace after doing the walking tour nearby of the old blast furnaces. It was Mother's Day so there were no tables available except for bar food. Service was good and the various entrees and sandwiches were very...More

Only commenting on ambiance, and beer selection; I did not eat. The beer selection was okay; some of the seasonal brews were well out of season (pumpkin in January?). I knew some of the barrels on tap were as favors given industry knowledge for deals...More

Last Friday evening my wife and I, along with another couple, returned to Dorothy 6 Blast Furnace Café for a second time. The restaurant's space is inviting. There is a large, nicely appointed bar and several tables. We had a reservation and were seated immediately....More

We got to the restaurant at 5:30, sure we would have plenty of time for our 7:00 show. We could not have been more wrong. And no, they were not that crowded AND had 3 servers! The service was probably the worst I’ve experienced in...More

Set in a historic area, "D6" is an absolute delight. An impressive range of craft brew is available, but you can stay domestic if you like - my wife loved the sweet/tart craft cherry cider! Don't expect simple pub food, though, because D6 serves up...More

I wasn't sure what to expect before visiting Dorothy 6, but I'm sure glad I went. There are all kinds of steel mill photos, drawings and memorabilia decorating the walls. The bar has the names of some of the mills permanently on the countertop. The...More

On Saturday morning I filled out a reservation form on the restaurant's web site for the same evening, 6 PM, for two people. They don't do OpenTable and it was too early in the morning to call them directly. Restaurant opened at 12 noon, but...More

We decided to try this on a whim at the end of a long drive into Pittsburgh. Located in the town of Homestead proper, Dorothy 6 was a real find. It's named after a blast furnace that graced the area for some 22 years. Clearly...More

Description
Dorothy 6 proudly serves fresh, upscale, and hand-crafted pub fare. Along with twenty taps of craft beer, we offer a broad array of beers by the bottle, classic cocktails infused with a D6 spin, fine wine, and some of the most inspired pub and comfort food you will find in the Steel city area. We also offer event space - Dorothy 6's Karma Lounge is a spacious 4,000 sq ft loft with a private bar. It can accommodate up to 80 guests for a seated event or 120 guests for a cocktail reception. Pittsburgh is a true all-American city that is a melting pot of rich cultures. Our philosophy is to prepare our take on All-American and Pittsburgh food classics using the best products while providing unpretentious and friendly service...with great beer to wash it all down.
