While living in Los Angeles, owners Kirk and Heather Saleme, stumbled upon many exciting eateries and grew a passion for good food with great atmosphere. When the couple got married and moved back to Central Pennsylvania to start a family, they wanted to bring something different and unique back to the hometown in which they grew up. Heather and Kirk saw the perfect opportunity to reconfigure and re-purpose an old shoe repair shop in the historic district of Hollidaysburg, and hoped that their new and exciting restaurant could help to revitalize and breathe some life back into the downtown area. Allegheny Creamery and Crepes opened its doors in May 2009.

Patio Dining at its Best!

We couldn't have asked for a better lunch - delicious crepes in a kind of magical garden! There were so many choices between the sweet and savory crepes that it was hard to decide. In the end my son settled for a Lumberjack Crepe and I for an ABC Crepe. Both were utterly delicious! We ordered the food at the counter, but we had to order the beer at the bar. That was a bit confusing. However, the Broken Heels IPA was absolutely worth the extra step. While we waited for our food we admired the lush and partially exotic greenery, the fountain and the chandeliers extended from wires above. A true oasis right in the middle of Hollidaysburg, PA! Masks were mandatory, the tables were spaced a good distance apart from each other, and everthing was wiped off regularly by an especially warm and friendly staff member. From all the restaurants we visited during the summer this was one of my favorites!

Great little local restaurant

I’m a local and we love this place! Since we only had 4 people for Thanksgiving dinner this year and we had a crazy week, we ordered their Turkey Dinner for 4. I picked it up the day before and all I had to do was reheat it in the oven and heat the gravy in the pan on the stove. Everything was delicious and it was a great price for the amount of food they gave us. They have great sandwiches, crepes, flatbreads, salads and dinner features the nights they are open, the breakfast menu is wonderful and the drink menu is too ( love their chia tea)!!

Best Crepe EVER!!!

Had one of the BEST fruit and yogurt crepes!!! I will definately be back to try other options. The menu is a little overwhelming when you first walk in and see it BUT take your time to read. Many wonderful selections!!!

BAD SERVICE..BAD FOOD

ordered item from board that stated it came with whip cream and fresh fruit .I was charged 12$. when food came there was no whip cream or fruit. I asked about this and was told the chef said it didn't come with either. I advised that the board stated both whipped cream and fruit came with this. With much reluctance we did get a dish of whip cream and a dish of fruit . Never again will I visit Allegheny creamery The food was just ok ..

Still a hidden gem

I have been coming here since it opened and have watched the restaurant go through many different phases over the years. The food remains amazing, fresh, and flavorful. The staff are all incredibly kind and the service is crazy fast. I place my order, pick up drinks from the bar (nonalcholic or alcoholic it all comes from the same area), find a table, and typically within 5-10 minutes my food is out. There are many different seating options depending on what you are looking for whether it is warm out and you want the patio or cold and desire the upstairs fireplace. There is something for everyone here.

Good start to a Sunday morning

Use to live in Hollidaysburg 25 years ago. Was in town visiting friends and they suggested this place and we are so glad they did. Great atmosphere and vibe. Its counter service to order and then they bring food to your table. Memu must have had just every type of combination of crepes you can think of. I had an avocado and bacon while my wife had come type of coconut filling. She really liked it and I totally enjoyed mine. Place was reasonably priced, and service was very friendly. Food came out quickly. They had an outside space as well, but since it was raining, we sat on the second floor (there is also first floor seating). Will make this a regular stop when visiting the Altoona area.

Worst Customer Service Experience

The restaurant took a reservation for my birthday party. When we arrived, they said they knew I called but they don't take reservations. They said we could wait and don't care about our business. I will never go back - I have never been treated so poorly.

Not just crepes

I had a wonderful crab cake sandwich with french fries. The menu will have something for everyone. We grabbed a couple brownies by the counter to go when we left which were yummy. The renovation is absolutely beautiful! There is really nothing like this in the area!

This place is AMAZING! I go at least once a week! Best breakfast, lunch or dinner. If you want a quaint cozy hometown feel with great food porn; this is the place for you! Homemade yogurt and really good for you food that, hands down, is the best around!!!😃

I had the best crepe sandwich you could ever have. Turkey and gouda sandwich I have ever have. The combination with the toppings was out of this world! Love it and recommend going there.

You would never expect it...

Drove past this place for years, but not today. Arrived with 4 picky eaters and we were welcomed with a friendly smile 😃. They were very nice, service was excellent, food was awesome. I would highly recommend, we are currently planning our next visit. We visited on a Saturday evening, and the place was over 3/4 full. All the customers seemed very happy also. Atmosphere was unique and enjoyable. As for the picky eaters, all smiles!!! We will return soon!!
