Even though kthis was our first time there, we were acetone feel like part of a great big beautiful family. I...can recommend the scrippelle soup, calimari, eggplant entree, chicken entrees and the pork and broccoli rabe sandwichMore

My husband, brother-in-law and myself tried this Gem in Glen Mills for happy hour. It was great. All the drinks are half price. You can get a good red Italian wine for $4, Pinot Grigio for $5 and Prosecco for $6. They offer buck a...shuck for oysters and clams. We chose the oyster and they were delicious. Next my husband had Scarpelle soup which was light and well prepared. We followed this with a shared giant meatball that was enough for the 3 of us to share. The flatbreads (Caprese and Pulled Pork )were a meal themselves. Crab stuffed mushrooms were excellent. Real lump crab meat ( even though it is described as crab imperial there was very little filler and no sauce. ) To say we enjoyed everything would be an understatement. I have to compliment the staff especially Betsy who was personable, knowledgeable and just the right combination of attention and professionalism. GG’s is lucky to have her. We will return again and again. Try this Gem in Glen Mills... you won’t be disappointed!!More

Menu nice and the food very good. We were two couples on a crowded Friday night. The positives were delicious entrees and a lovely antipasto food board. A very nice atmosphere! Execution overall needs work. The bartender was overwhelmed. Drinks were delayed and arrived to...the table one at a time. The kitchen was slow getting food to the table. Three of us ordered double espressos, but declined we they only had decafe! The experience was so-so, the food great.More

GG's is like walking into a time warp - my father and his crew would have loved the this place. Black leather booths and white table cloths. The hostess was also our waitress and very pleasant. She brought us a complimentary glass of Champagne and...then we didn't see her server for a bit. She did have several tables, but bread and water would normally come next. There also was a Henessey rep giving out sample Sidecars - so we were happy. Appetizers and dessert were very good - the antipasto platter had 3 cheeses with some meats, arugula and long hots, the stuffed olives delcious and the casesar salad was flavored perfectly with anchovies. Unfortunately when the bread did come out, we were almost done with our salad. It is Sarcones, but should have been warmed and I would have liked olive oil with it or better yet served with our antipasto. Our dinners were disappointing, my tagliatelle and mushroom was over sauced and my girlfriends veal in the veal vincenzo was almost non existent. I have to say I was not going to order anything with red gravy here, but it was actually good and the crab in the fra diavolo was fresh and delicious, but the shrimp tasted dry and shriveled. The proscuitto also needs to be fresher on the antipasto board. The zeppole's for dessert were delicious and reminded me of my mom's. My friends would return, I am not sure I would as there are too many other restaurants to try.More

I don't know how long GG's has been open but they need some improvement. The bartender couldn't ding a bottle of pino grigio (even though it was on the menu), the service was very slow (the excuse being they were short a cook. They refused...to substitute angel hair pasta for the gnocchi that came with the veal, even though the pasta was offered as one of the sides ! Our server was very nice and apologized frequently (for things that were not her fault), but I think the entire operation needs some workMore

My mom, fiancé and I went for dinner. My mom uses a small walker and she had trouble getting in because there is a parking spot in front of the ramp. Once in the tables are so close together that mom has to close her...walker to get to the table. The waitress was nice but service was slow. The bread and butter were good. My spicy seafood pasta wasn’t bad, mom said her shrimp Scampi was ok. My fiancé had Veal Marsala which was tough and not fully cooked, and the sauce was too thick. The atmosphere is nice but too cramped and loud. Food was not great.More

We were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere, small but not cramped. Unfortunately, we sat too close to the singer. It was way too loud for a small space. Even when he took a break, the music was loud. The apps were good, but the entrees...were super salty. The service was good and staff was very pleasant. We wanted to like it, but unfortunately we won’t go back. I can still taste the salt. We just returned from the chaddsford tavern tonight and found out they have the same owner? These chefs need to talk because the tavern food had no taste whatsoever! I don’t get it, I thought chefs were suppose to taste the food that they create. We had the roast beef sandwich and it had zero taste, even though it had cheese on it. How is that possible? I ate two bites and brought it home. I’ll add some au jus sauce. Go figure, some salt. Hmm...the egg rolls apps with local mushrooms was delicious. The wings had no taste.More

I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately, I'm not sure we will be back. I understand that the owner is also the owner of the Chadds Ford Tavern which we really like. We went last Friday night for Frank Sinatra night. We went...early since they don't take reservations for Friday nights and the place is small; only 13 tables. Server was very pleasant and took our drink orders which came out promptly. We waited a bit and then ordered some calamari for an appetizer. It was a large portion and tasty but nothing special. Then we ordered an Italian salad to share. The salad was also very large but was good. I then ordered Veal Vincenzo for dinner and my wife ordered spaghetti and meatball. Yes I said meatball as it is just one meatball but it is a 1 pound meatball! At this point the service began to slow as more people came in for the evening. When the entrees finally came we were really disappointed. The veal appeared to be 3 chopped veal patties, not veal cutlets as i expected. My wife's spaghetti was overcooked but the sauce was good. The meatball was surprisingly good. Apparently this is a house specialty. They combine whipped ricotta with the meat and breadcrumbs and it was quite tasty. Service at this point had slowed to a crawl. We often didn't see our server for 15 minutes at a time. The table next to us ordered a second round of drinks that never came. Table on the other side finally got tired of waiting for their first round of drinks and went to the bar to get the drinks themselves. No one ever came to take their order. The Sinatra singer came on at 7pm. Unfortunately while he may have been good at one time, he was not so good tonight. He often missed notes and was flat. We were done eating with our meal by that time so we left before he finished his first set. They we obviously short of help with only 2 servers and a bus person for 13 tables. Not sure what was going on in the kitchen but food was very slow coming out. And there is no reason that drinks were not brought out promptly. While we will definitely visit the Chadds Ford Tavern again, we will most likely not be back to GG Italian unless we hear of a significant change.More

We went on a Thursday night. It was a lively place, likely in part because they have a 2-hour happy hour with all drinks half price, and numerous appetizer specials. My mother had a chicken soup with chopped up pieces of soufflé that were like...noodle strips-not bad. We were disappointed by the bread, which was dry and I unflavorful. There were three flavored butters, which were just out of the fridge and hardened. I had salmon which wasn’t bad, the best part being the risotto. My dad had spaghetti and giant meatball, and mom had eggplant parmigiana. They found them pretty good. The restaurant is located at a hotel, and to use the bathroom you have to go inside the hotel, a bit of a hike and a real change of scenery.More

You have a real hidden gem here. Just opened and the food is fantastic. Authentic Italian that was well prepared and presented. Fresh pasta dishes and classic Italian ones as well. My daughter had a simple flat break pizza with all fresh ingredients and she...loved it. My wife had veal Oscar and she loved it as well. The crowd seemed to love the one pound meatballs. Trust me, his restaurant will climb in the charts. Headed to the top.More
