On our way home from an overnight in Lancaster, PA, Ben and Mrs Too made a short detour north to Hillside Café for lunch. Happily, this particular phoenix is fully risen from its ashes and is thriving perhaps as never before, at least for weekday lunch business. Ben and Mrs Too felt we were seeing more suited groups of three... More

Very good food. Newly renovated after the fire and the crowd is glad to have the restaurant and awesome steaks and seafood back.

Great place for a night out. Crab cakes here are the best in the area. Staff is friendly! Portion sizes are good not too big.

My family has had many get togethers at the Hillside for over forty years and we have always had good steaks and great service. The menu is for steak and seafood lovers and the quality has been steady over the years. Servers are friendly and professional. Nice for lunch or dinner.

After this place burned down I expected the restaurant side to be a little less cafeteria looking. Actually the sports bar side is nicer than the "dining room." So if you're looking for a fine dining atmosphere this is not the place to go. However, if you're looking for a consistently good steak I would recommend this restaurant.

I have to say, we went whwn it first reopened and I was not impressed at all with the service. Our meals took forever and were cold when we got them. While letting the waitress know, another waitress spilled an entire carrying tray on another couple. Gave it a few months and tried it again... even worse.

I had the steak salad and the flavor was excellent. This place is so much nicer since it was redone after the fire. Staff is still great. A great place for a nice sit down lunch.

I go to Hillside for steak. Over the years I have enjoyed it even though it seemed expensive. Recently I was disappointed. The steak seemed like a cheaper cut. Even my non meat eating dinner companion noted the lack of quality. Luckily the crab cake is very good. The total score would be lower except for the great service by... More

So so service, had to move, seating was promised to those coming in at a later time. Hmmm. Wife's seafood, crab cake was great, but my Porterhouse steak was definitely not good, not cooked to order, medium rare was choice, but came well done. Offered to take back but declined since I wasn't sure when the steak would come back?... More
